Wondering if someone might be able to help me here. I have flashed my 62D to Onyx 1.7.3. Everything looks great! But, I cannot seem to get my USB connection to work again with my MAC. It just doesn't seem to recognize my Boyue anymore.

I"m probably missing something simple, but hoping someone could help.

Also, I am wondering what all of the icons at the top do. There are several to the right of the clock that I don't recognize and have no idea what they are. Any help there would be appreciated too! Thanks!

I don't have a mac and my settings are in German but I'm trying to help:
1) USB connection:
There is this setting:
Settings - Memory - Memory settings - USB-connection (PC)
Media devic (MTP)
Camera (PTP)
Mass Storage
Mine is set to Mass Storage. Yours?
2) Those icons are a wonderful thing. I'm using the version FOV provided (1.7.4) and from left to right:
Back - Home - Battery - Time - Switch off - All open apps - Switch between key buttons and volume buttons - A2 (fast refresh)) - Settings

Thanks so much for your response. I actually wound up switching from the "Expanded" version to the "Standard" version. I guess I don't know what the difference is between those two and what my device has. I was under the impression that my device had 1GB of system memory, but the "Expanded" version gave me the problems with USB.

I am curious where you are seeing "Memory" under settings. My settings panel seems very, very basic.

And THANKS for clearing up what the icons are for! You're right, now that I understand what they are, they are wonderful!

If you had mentioned that before I could have been more specific. FOVs extended version (for those who know what they are doing) is using up all the space shown as internal SD to expand the userdata partition, so the 1GB program installation limit will be expanded. But sure, internal SD will no longer exist so your Mac can't see.

Mine is the same like yours. Somethere under Settings - Memory is a gray icon in the topmost right corner. That brings up more settings.

@FOV : I can confirm that your Gonyx Version 1.7.4 for Q6LHD flashes and works perfectly well on Energy Sistem Pro HD.

Many Thanks (again ) !!!!

1. I have the Energy Pro HD and if I wanted to go back to their FW there is no other way than using the ROM Kitchen. I don't know if that's the case for the Boyue. You don't need to have a confirmadb access (I am saying this because in some cases, like in mine, it is not confirmed nevertheless existent, thus allowing me to change ROMs).

2. If you don't know Jack about adb, where could you ever have the idea to change ROM ? You seem to be playing without knowing what you are doing, and should just leave your device as is. ROM switching / cooking is not for everyone, and if you don't have the basics understanding for what you are doing, don't do it. . You'll end up with a pretty but expensive brick.
It's not as if this warning has never been given before btw....

while you were giving me a 'fair warning' i was busy with learning about rkbatchtool.

so if you prefer rkbatchtool instead of rkdumpertool (which is mentioned in rom kitchen thread) you do not need adb knowledge. and nor i do! now i have energy pro+ fw in my boyue t62d.

Which was not your question. Your question was how to get back to the original FW of your particular device. As I answered in point 1., it depends on the device you have.

Which dump tool are you talking about ? the RK21 or the RKwintool ? Both tools are good, but have different uses. And rkbatchtool 1.8 works perfectly well, without having to go through adb enabling. 1.7 never did for my device and for others here.
I use all 3 tools, for different means. But to go into all this without understanding what adb is and what adb access enables is just asking for a brick at one point or another.

Ignore my advice as much as you want, but don't expect us to help. Some lessons have to be learned painfully I guess...

all your advices are appreciated but you are right, if you want to fly, you must 'leave' the nest.

Isn't it the point of this? To just slap the original update.zip file on the sd card and let the magic happen? (God bless you FOV )

I have a Pro HD, not a Pro+. Mine is based on a T64. So I cannot just slap a ROM on it without knowing what I am doing. And since I like to cook my ROMs, I use FOV work and change it to my preferences and only then try it on my device, until I find what I want.

I also think you should know about Android, how it works, how to use recovery and so on if you want to change the FW of any android device.
Why is it so difficult to understand ????

so Im running the onyx 1.7.3 extended on my boyue t62d.

I want to do the upgrade to 1.7.4 extended, my question is with the new universal update, will it delete any data or no? I just want to double check before I do anything lol.

I have my books on external sd, I just dont want to redownload all my apps/deal with restoring a bunch of backups if it can be avoided.
(love the device, but man does it get bogged down when doing that stuff)

**edit**
forgot to add, im on vacation and dont have access to a computer.
