Glomming KA would be hard for me because the length of her books makes each one a kind of mini-glom. I do best with her if I read 1 or 2 then leave her for a month or 2, then come back. I think if I glommed her I would stop being unintentionally sucked in to her stories.
Yep, just checked my notes, you are 100% correct. My only problem with not glomming, I forget aspects of the books and then I spend vast amounts of time skimming previous books to refresh my memory.

This is the only one I didn't have in digital, so yay.
Same here. I picked this one up!

I've just learned a new word, glom.

I've been glomming on the Night Huntress universe by Jeaniene Frost (thanks to Blossom who recommended it here). Finished the latest book yesterday, and it's gonna be a long wait before the last book comes out January next year.

The entire series is very enjoyable. The first book may be a little too long for my taste (need a bit more patience), but after that it's getting better and better.

I'm having mild withdrawal syndrome now. Will look for something else to latch on before the next contest comes around. *checking out the huge TBR pile*

I keep putting off reading those Kristen Ashley books as I get so confused with what order to read what and the intermingling of characters. It drives me batty. I am such a OCD reader when it comes to reading in order. Especially on chronological order.

And on a positive note, the kindle app got an update and I can finally read in full screen mode in that app on my Nexus. Wonderful. I just can't find a font I like as much as the kindle app fonts like caecilia in other apps like Moon +. So I am glad I get the full experience now without the time and battery icon on the top. More lines for reading screens too.

Oh, I'm in the boat with you re: OCD order. Imagine my horror when I found out the first Kristen Ashley book I read [Creed] was right in the middle of a bunch of books!
Anyways, here's the notes I compiled between readers info here and Kristen Ashley's site:

Quote:
Kristen Ashley reading order:

1) The Rock Chick Series (Now, this series is a definite first...BUT, I would strongly suggest reading The Colorado Mountain Series somewhere in this mix. You'll need to have read Breathe before you read the finale to the Rock Chick Series, Rock Chick Revolution to get the full impact of something. I shall say no more!)

2) The Dream Man Series

3) The Chaos Series/The Unfinished Hero Series

4) The ‘Burg Series

If you're really particular about getting the full experience, I suggest you make time to read For You of The 'Burg Series before you read Jagged of the Colorado Mountain Series. I know this sounds confusing, but it wasn't when I was writing them!

The rest of my books can be read in whatever order you like, however, Heaven and Hell would be more fun to read after the Rock Chicks, the Colorado Mountain and The 'Burg series are consumed.

If you’re new to my work, it should be noted that if you read one, you don’t get the same “feel” for all. For instance, The Rock Chick series is fast-paced and full of humor. There is emotionality to it but The Colorado Mountain Series and The ‘Burg Series are more descriptive, longer and more raw. The Dream Man Series is a spin-off of Rock Chick and follows that same vein but it’s a little deeper. The Unfinished Hero Series is like Dream Man but it is more erotic and it is important to note this series is about anti-heroes and anti-heroines, it is an exploration of those concepts so if that isn’t your gig, beware!

Yikes Blue. That listing is even more confusing. First she says to read Colorado first than later she says something different like reading a Burg book before a colorado book. And she doesn't think that is confusing?

I already read the first in the Dream Man series. I read the first in the unfinished "Knight". I had no clue at the time there was any connection. I tried to read the first Rock Chick, but never finished. Heroine got on my nerves, among other things. And I have no interest of any kind reading any motorcycle gang books. None.

And that is why I stopped reading her books. At this point I have no clue what I would read first. I don't think I'll make it though the Rock Chick series and that apparently throws off everything else.

Maybe I'll keep reading the ghost series, I liked the first in that one and then read the fantasy series. Assuming characters from the Rock Chicks didn't go to fantasy land also.

I am not a fan at all of all this intertwine stuff. It gives me a headache to the point where I just don't want to bother anymore. I don't want to be forced reading themes I just don't like. Motorcycle gang stuff. Or having to slug through books I didn't like, 1st rock chick, just to keep up with the stuff.

Grace Burrowes is another one of those that confuses the heck out of me and I stopped reading her too for the same reason. I am just way OCD with reading order. Reading shouldn't be so complicated and that stuff takes the fun out of it for me.

I read Heaven and Hell and read after, that characters from the Rock Chicks were mentioned in there to.

I would suggest to you, if you have enjoyed a few of KA's books, that you read the first three of her Colorado Mountain series. There is absolutely NO mention of any other characters in any other series in these books. Those three books are some of my favorites of hers, especially the second one, Sweet Dreams. As a matter of fact, you could read Sweet Dreams without reading the first book, because it's set in a different town and the couple in The Gamble (the first book) are hardly mentioned.

I understand being OCD about reading order, I think I avoided most of Lorraine Heath's London set historicals because the multiple books in the various series fried my mind. But really, if books don't build on each other, like the first few books in the Rock Chick and Colorado Mountain series, why put them off because you're overwhelmed? I'm not really directing this at you, Atunah, I just feel like people are potentially missing out because they don't want to miss any little detail. It seems like it's better to just dive into a book and enjoy the ride. Of course, if a person doesn't like KA's writing, that's another thing entirely, it wouldn't be worth going further in that case!

Thanks for letting me express my thoughts on this. I keep seeing posts about having to read a series in order, and unless a story arc builds on itself it doesn't seem completely necessary. I guess I'm just offering an opposing viewpoint.

Somebody's Angel (Rescue Me Saga Book 4) by Kallypso Masters is on sale on ARe.

Normally $4.99, now $0.99 Available in Adobe Acrobat, Mobipocket (.mobi), Epub (DRM free from the looks of it).

Quote:
When Marc d’Alessio first rescued the curvaceous and spirited Italian Angelina Giardano at the Masters at Arms Club, he never expected her to turn his safe, controlled life upside down and pull at his long-broken heartstrings. Months later, the intense fire of their attraction still rages, but something holds him back from committing to her completely. Worse, secrets and memories from his past join forces to further complicate his relationships with family, friends, and his beautiful angel.

Angelina cannot give all of herself to someone who hides himself from her. She loves Marc, the BDSM world he brought her into, and the way their bodies respond to one another, but she needs more. Though she destroyed the wolf mask he once wore, only he can remove the mask he dons daily to hide his emotions. In a desperate attempt to break through his defenses and reclaim her connection to the man she loves, she attempts a full frontal assault that sends him into a fast retreat, leaving her nobody’s angel once again.

Marc finds that running to the mountains no longer gives him solace but instead leaves him empty and alone. Angelina is the one woman worth the risk of opening his heart. Will he risk everything to become the man she deserves and the man he wants to be?

ABOUT THE RESCUE ME SAGA: The books in the ongoing Rescue Me Saga are not stand-alone stories and should be read in order. Characters will recur in later books to deal with further issues in their lives as the saga continues and each book builds upon all previous ones. Sometimes main characters even need another book to help resolve major issues affecting their relationships.

BONUS MATERIAL in this version: Kallypso Masters has added the PLAYLIST of music that inspired her as she wrote about the first three couples mentioned in this combined volume, as well as a GLOSSARY OF TERMS and a CAST OF CHARACTERS in these books in the saga.

CONTENT WARNING: Intended for mature adult readers not offended by profanity and graphic (but never gratuitous!) sex scenes. Due to the emotional way in which the author presents the subject matter (past and present), the books might cause triggers while reading. Please read the Author's Notes at the beginnings of each book before reading further.
