Seven Wonders Book 1: The Colossus Rises is $1.99 today.

Quote:
Percy Jackson meets Indiana Jones in the New York Times bestselling epic adventure Seven Wonders! The Colossus Rises is the first book in a seven-book series. This first installment chronicles the story of Jack McKinley, an ordinary kid with an extraordinary problem. In a few months, he’s going to die—unless he finds seven magic Loculi that have been hidden in the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Rick Riordan calls Seven Wonders “a high-octane mix of modern adventure and ancient secrets. The Colossus Rises is Lerangis’s most gripping work yet. Young readers will love this story. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Seven Wonders series!”
It's a young adult novel, but it seems to fit better in the sci-fi/fantasy thread.

Vampire Apocalypse Books 1 - 3 by Derek Gunn [Permuted Press]

Quote:
**The entire Vampire Apocalypse series has recently been re-edited, undergone partial rewrites, and has been completely repackaged by Permuted Press, all new in 2014!**

In a desolate world where communications have ceased . . . where the global oil supply is quickly dwindling, vampires rise to rule the Earth.

In this new era of blood and depravity, you are either a slave to the dark masters or dinner . . . either a breeding vessel or a rebel.

Charismatic leader, Peter Harris is the latter. Join him and his band of comrades as they fight to take back and then rebuild a world torn asunder . . .

Scourge of the Betrayer (Bloodsounder's Arc) by Jeff Salyards is the US Kindle SF/F Daily Deal for $1.99.

http://www.amazon.com/Scourge-Betray...dp/B008258IPY/

Quote:
Many tales are told of the Syldoon Empire and its fearsome soldiers, who are known throughout the world for their treachery and atrocities. Some say that the Syldoon eat virgins and babies–or perhaps their own mothers. Arkamondos, a bookish young scribe, suspects that the Syldoon’s dire reputation may have grown in the retelling, but he’s about to find out for himself.

Hired to chronicle the exploits of a band of rugged Syldoon warriors, Arki finds himself both frightened and fascinated by the men’s enigmatic leader, Captain Braylar Killcoin. A secretive, mercurial figure haunted by the memories of those he’s killed with his deadly flail, Braylar has already disposed of at least one impertinent scribe . . . and Arki might be next.

Archiving the mundane doings of millers and merchants was tedious, but at least it was safe. As Arki heads off on a mysterious mission into parts unknown, in the company of the coarse, bloody-minded Syldoon, he is promised a chance to finally record an historic adventure well worth the telling, but first he must survive the experience!

A gripping military fantasy in the tradition of Glen Cook, Scourge of the Betrayer explores the brutal politics of Empire–and the searing impact of violence and dark magic on a man’s soul.

This week's one-day sale at the always DRM-free Weightless Books is the anthology After the End: Recent Apocalypses for $1.99. Edited by Paula Guran, with stories by Paolo Bacigalupi, Kage Baker, Cory Doctorow, Margo Lanagan, Nnedi Okorafor, Carrie Vaughn, and many others.

Quote:
From the Sumerian epic of Gilgamesh to Norse prophecies of Ragnarök to the Revelations of Saint John to Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, any number of fictional zombie Armageddons, and the dystopic world of The Hunger Games, we have always wondered what will happen after the world as we know it ends. No matter what the doomsday scenario—cataclysmic climate change, political chaos, societal collapse, nuclear war, pestilence, or so many other dreaded variations—we inevitably believe that even though the world perishes, some portion of humankind will live on. Such stories involve death and disaster, but they are also tales of rebirth and survival. Grim or triumphant, these outstanding post-apocalyptic stories selected from selected from the best of those published in the tumultuous last decade allow us to consider what life will be like after the end.

Several anthologies of fantasy and sci-fi stories from Xchyler press are on sale for $.99. I see steampunk and traditional fantasy anthologies.

I haven't bought from them, but one of their authors wrote a game I like and recommended them.
