These appear to be self-published (& over-hyped). As I said in the first post: "Please don't post any self-published books".

While self-publised books can be great, not many of them are, and there are just too many to allow them in this thread.

London Falling by Paul Cornell is 59p on Amazon.co.uk today (26/11/2013) and 96c on Amazon.com.

I can heartily recommend this book. I guess you'd call it urban fantasy. It's similar to the Rivers of London books but a little darker.

Looks like this was short term or an error on the Amazon US site. It's Showing 10.67 for the Kindle version now.

Still 59p at amazon.co.uk, so I think it is a genuine offer.

It's a genuine offer, but for UK-based buyers (and those who can appear based in the UK) only: the version they're seeing on Amazon.com is the UK one, listed for whatever reason on the US site but available there solely to UK buyers. There are other books like this; the Rod Rees series mentioned the other day, for example. US-based members will often have trouble even finding the item pages for these editions, and if they do there'll be a "This title is not currently available for purchase" message where the buy button would be. Here, for example, is the page for the UK edition of the last Demi-Monde book, which doesn't even have a US e-edition yet: http://www.amazon.com/The-Demi-Monde.../dp/B00CUE0DD8.

I apologize. I thought the original offer was indicating 59p for Amazon UK, or 99c for Amazon US. I was just trying to clarify that it wasn't available for that price from the US Amazon site (probably region-locked) for anyone else also confused.

To be fair I thought that was the case.

I think what's going on is that if I search for the book on amazon.com I find it, with prices in dollars, including the kindle version for 0.96$ - BUT there's no buy button instead there's a message "kindle titles are available for UK customers on amazon.co.uk". So I think it's showing me the UK deal in dollars on the US site - why I don't know!

I thought that it was on offer on both sites because I'd seen two prices on the author's blog where he announced it but it turns out that the second was 99p for the book on iTunes.

Anyway I apologise for the confusion but if you're either in the UK or able to cyber-visit then it's a great book.

It's listed on the US site anyway but the server gives the UK price to some because one option for international customers with their own local Kindle store is to use Amazon.com and see the same selection of books but with web pages in English and prices in US dollars.

This makes finding the US price quite hard "I hate smart servers" so I often use Luzme.com for that check.

Thanks for the heads up. However, also bother! I was three days away from my target of December before I buy another ebook!
