I had four, which is somewhat fewer than I'd hoped. All but one were books I'd like to have in eBook format, so I'll likely opt for them as soon as I can afford to buy any books.

I had seven; two were gifts that I don't want and two were nonfiction diet/health books I don't need on the Kindle. The rest were two Lois McMaster Bujold titles and one Stephen Baxter.

I had only one match. Not that surprising as I was mainly a Borders shopper back when I read print.

Sadly, it was for a book I really didn't like though and donated my print copy years ago.

I too am in this boat, I would say 90% of my books have already been replaced as ebook, but then I probably purchased less than 50 books from Amazon in the past. Now if only Books A Million had something like this...

I never purchased any print books from Amazon so had no Matchbooks available. I stopped buying print books in 1990 when Microsoft started selling eBooks readable on a PC.

If print book purchases from Amazon are required, then this service will be of no use to most folks.

It looks like all my eBook purchases prior to my buying them from Amazon will fade away as all my print books did.

I'm excited! The only "real" books I buy anymore are reference books. I have been buying a bible commentary set one book at a time (New International Commentary--about $35 each). They apparently participate in the MatchBook program and are $2.99 each! So yes, I will buy all of them!

I have a few more, but they are not nearly such a bargain.

Only two of my previous paper books made the cut, and one I've already replaced with the ebook edition. Luckily for me the other was on my wishlist, as I never got the hardcover back when I loaned it out.

Guess Mom gets to keep the pbook after all.

I hit 3 myself, all books that I bought as gifts, and all of them were $2.99. I looked back through my list of purchases over the years, and realized I haven't had a huge number of book purchases, but I'd have to say I'm a little on the disappointed side for something they hyped as much as they did. It seems pretty clear they didn't have any luck getting any major publishers onboard.

HarperCollins and at least Tor from Macmillan are on-board for some titles. We can only hope that the program is deemed successful by those big pubs and others like Penguin and Random House choose to eventually follow suit.

It's working out pretty well for Amazon. I bought the five matches they showed me and four other books from the same author (Dave Duncan) that I originally bought from B. Dalton back in the '80s.
I hope they don't add too many more right away.

I didn't have any matches, but most of what I've ordered since I opened my account in 97 has been through their used marketplace and rather obscure titles at that (i.e. for the science fiction literature class I took my freshman year of college). Will check again in a few months, I guess!

I *THINK* that from now on when you buy a print book that is in the program it will tell you at time of purchase if the ebook is free or low cost. BUT I don't know for sure and I don't know if that phase is working yet.
