Nexus 7 is pretty tempting price wise though and would make a good pdf reader but for reading novels nothing beats the batterylife or screen of e-ink I just wish ereaders and tablets weren't built so fragile.

We choose to stick everything old though things are changing and we have access to new and modern devices.Reading on tablets have lots of advantages over paper books since and it is ecologically more preferable except for the junks it leaves at times. I use Kindle and this gives me the real feeling of reading paper books. I am a traveler as the nature of my job demands so I prefer to carry tablets since it is light and portable

When it comes down to it, despite the arguments that Oh, I use it to read academic pdfs, or I hate shopping but if I have to do it this is more convenient (swoon), or whatever, tablets are toys. Unlike real computers, they are fundamentally designed for entertainment and to be toys. As such, they are a waste of time. They are the new cabbage-patch doll.

I often come across narrow-minded individuals on internet that after all the given arguments still hold on to their believes because they spent to much time nurturing them, its hurts to back down and say, shit I was wrong.

And no matter your opinion, fact is tablet market just keeps growing. In business and commercial sector. So clearly, it is not only for its "toyness" but for actual productivity.

If you can't wrap your head around the idea that people can be productive with tablets as much as with laptops/desktops I am sorry. Don't worry nothing is cemented in this life, maybe someday you'll have an epiphany.

I'll refer you to my post here and ask you to read carefully and look at the pretty pictures, they might get rid of you of that hate for tablets.

Apparently, no one has ever played a game on a desktop computer before. It seems they are all used only for serious applications, like calculating ballistics trajectories. And sitting at a desk using a desktop computer is less sedentary than using a tablet that you can walk around with.
