No problem. But, there are ALOT of good books on there... even if they are old. But, there are quite a bit of new ones too. Look for Cory Doctorow's books, look for Mars Girl, look for Richard Herley's books.

Oh yeah! I'm not doubting the quality of the selection, just making an observation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look them up. I've already downloaded in anticipation

I think one of the best things about the Feedbooks Download guide is that it seems like everybook has a little summary somewhere in the guide. For instance, I did a search just on the word mermaid (hey, I like mermaids) and found a cute little book that didn't have mermaid in the title but had mermaids in it, and even sounds like a good read for me.

So not only can you do searches by title and author...you can also find books in that long list that maybe you didn't know existed but you might like to read.

It was awesome =^.^=

Yea, I found that also quite useful.

Hi there, somehow missed Feedbooks until now and think this is a great service ... but can't seem to get anything to work.

I started with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which downloads fine via the guide, but the Kindle won't display the book, showing an error message after I select the title in the home list. I then tried Wuthering Heights, both through the guide and directly through the browser, and while it downloads either way and appears in the list that book won't open either. I saw an earlier message from years ago about Bronte books, but am guessing there was a work-around made for those at this point?

Any suggestions?

:edit: Also tried downloading over USB... no dice

BTW, the error is "The selected item could not be opened..."

:edit: Okay, figured it out. I was still on firmware 1.0.8. Upgraded to 1.2 and hey presto, everything's fine.

Outage?

Hoping it's just a temporary service outage and not a site-gone-by, but all I can get is server timeout messages from Feedbooks all day today...

I can get to http://feedbooks.com/ using Firefox on a Windows XP PC, and I was able to download a MOBI ebook.

I've gotten there 3 times since you started posting just to make sure it was accessible, and I've had no problems each time....Just tried it and site showed up immediately. I'm running Vista...(not my choice)

Here is Hadrian's email address from his "about" page.

hadrien.gardeur@feedbooks.com

Perhaps he can help you find out why you cannot connect.

Thanks

Thanks, it appears to be something specific with my ISP. I can reach it through Whispernet as well as at work, but get 'server not found' message only at home. Stupid COMCAST...

When I enter http://www.feedbooks.com/kindleguide into the Kindle browser, I get a 404 Error. Have I missed something? I can go to the homepage though; it works fine.
