March 28th, I had the code in an email from Kobo, for Hunger Games 85% off, and it did NOT work. USA Kobo etouch user.

Were you trying to buy the first book in the series, or the trilogy? Last I heard it was working only for the individual books, not the trilogy.

I wonder why they changed it & don't let it work on the trilogy anymore? Maybe they didn't expect so many people to jump on the offer? hmm

Hungergames2 and hungergames3 promos no longer work. I just got the first book using Hungergamesdeal and it worked. Hungergamesdeal2 and Hungergamesdeal3 do not work nor does Hungergamesdeal on the 2nd and 3rd books. Look like you have to buy the entire trilogy to get a good deal now. They must have figured out people were getting them seperate for $3 and some change total. Oh well my gf will be happy with just the first book. Im not buying the first book twice.

Sucks though because in the email it said you could save 85% on any hunger games books until the 31st with the code Hungergamesdeal2. Seems none of the codes work on the trilogy as well. Guess you can only save on the first book now. Kind of sneaky of kobo for changing it two days before the end of the deal. They must have know people would take to the deal especially if they sent out all those emails.

You might be able to wait a bit and try the coupons again. A poster in the KoboBooks.com Discount Codes thread says that after they initially stopped working on the sequels, s/he tried again after an interval and was able to get one book per day and complete the trilogy, so maybe they reset after a time.

I did originally log out and go back it didnt work. I will try again later.

Yeah I will try that. Still sucks. A sale is a sale. I am surprised kobo doersnt let you put multiple items in the shopping cart.

I would love to get all three for my GF so you will have something to read on her flight to see her daughter. They along with the Harry Potter books and other young adult books are perfect for her attention span.

Yeah, I agree. I'm just glad I saw the code & jumped on it right away myself. I was able to get the trilogy. I suppose like all sales it's subject to many conditions but it's still disappointing when they change their mind or the terms.

Thanks for your information. I got the first book and then could not get the next one but just tried it again and got the second book with HungerGamesDeal. Will have to try tomorrow for the final book.

Got all three now. My friend also tried to get them. He forgot to put the code in the first book and was charged $10.09, not the $5.79 it was advertised for. I noticed that the regular price and a higer "our price" is on the search list for the books. When you click on the buy button and get the checkout page the book now has a lower "our price" (which was $5.79 for the first book) He than got the second book with the code at $1.67. Which was still higher than what I got it for because it took the 85% off the main listing "our price" I told him it must be because he was going through his Ipad.

He called Kobo. The rep was very forgiving. He gave him a $5 credit for the first book and told him he wouldnt have been able to use the code for it anyways because you could only buy 1 hunger games book per account with the discount code which he used on catching fire.

My friend didnt even try to argue the point and just said thanks and hung up. I later told him the rep lied because I was able to get the discount within a half hour on the last two books with my one account.(after his experience) Plus the email never stated there was a limit of one book per account.

The situation put another nail in the coffin for him reading ebooks. I had convinced him to give his ereader another chance. Especially since he borrowed the first hunger games from a friend and I told him he could get all three as ebooks cheaply.(he had stopped using his ereader after just a couple days initially) After he was through with the Kobo rep he said this is why I hate ebooks.
