The first Kindle advert was one that made people go huh? What the heck is Amazon trying to sell? Then when the Kindle was shown at the end, you'd go what is that?

Really poor advert. They have gotten much better since then.

Yes, but you'll probably never forget that ad or the music went with it, whether you liked it or not!

You left out probably the most important difference. Formats. Kindle uses Mobipocket and Sony uses ePub.

But if I didn't know what a Kindle was back then, I still would not know what a Kindle was after the advert. That's why it's a poor advert. It didn't get the viewer any clue as to what the Kindle is.

The strange thing is, Sony is the only site I have trouble with - and, as I found out early on in my ereaderdom, when I complained about it, a lot of other people did too.

Then they closed down the site - according to a PM , " trouble we've been having in the last few days, so our web people decided something had to be done" after it had been like it for at least 5 months - and when it came back, it was better. Since then, it's slowly gone back to it's old ways.

I mean, this Forum, and most other Forums, get it right. This one and AV are about the best I've encountered, Sony about the worst.

And my connection is 100% - and is fine everywhere else.
