Recently finished A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole (can't believe it's taken me this long to discover this novel).

Not far into Carter Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold. Great read thus far.

Since my post on July 11th:

Finished:
GRRM - A Dance with Dragons
Ernest Hemingway - The Old Man and the Sea
The Southern Vampire Mysteries series (Sookie Stackhouse) Book 1&2 "Dead Until Dark", "Living Dead in Dallas"

Just started:
The Southern Vampire Mysteries series (Sookie Stackhouse) book 3 "Club Dead" last night and I'm 50% through it. Catching up to this season of True Blood's storyline it seems...

Going to burn through some shorter novels before going back to the Malazan series. Some Dresden Files and some other stuff.

If you like Confederacy..... Try the good soldier Švejk (1923)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Soldier_Schweik

or..... Try Stern's (1767) TRISTAM SHANDY:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lif...ndy,_Gentleman

To me all in the same vein..... much like Celine, Miller and Bukowski....but on a different vein..

Just finished 'Public Enemy Zero' by Andrew Mayne, 'Full Dark, No Stars' by Stephen King and 'The Caves of Steel' by Isaac Asimov.

Now reading King's 'Everything's Eventual', followed by either 'God, No!' by Penn Jillette or Kevin Mitnick's 'Ghost in the Wires: My Adventures as the World's Most Wanted Hacker'.
