also, hhttp://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/rel...aunty/release/
that's Ubuntu 9.04, which had support for ARMv5. Ubuntu dropped support for the platform in 10.04 Last edited by D4N14L; 08-23-2010 at 10:59 AM. |

How would that Win95 look like? I mean, would it be like a full operating system or what? Btw, is it possible to enable page scrolling on the e-ink side?

Quick question on your firmware or patch
Hello Robot - when will you be releasing the patch to utilize the lcd for android use? I really would like this so that basic usage - Serfing, etc. can be used on the eink side so that I can use it outdoors. Thaks

It's time consumpted by still possible. The trick is that we can use an VM (qemu or bosh) which translate CPU instruction from ARM to X86 for example (but it's slow), and also PXA168 proc used in EE seems support MMX instructions, so VM will have some hardware acceleration.

Due to Dingo update it requeres some modification. Not so hard, but coming months will be very busy, because I have to participate in two conferences. HiTech (Nanotechnology and superconductors sections) and IRT\SEO (Google and other big guys). So probably right after those events.

For example, step 1: push button ON.. step2: wait 4 seconds -.... you understand me, be a little bit slowly for the other people, try to obtain the maximum juice from your orange...you just installed Debian and you ask for Windows 95 ! anyway, thank you for your job, robot |

supermarkitos2004, the easy way to get debian is to mount an disk img with debian (or what so ever OS with ARMv5 support), and then chroot into it. As I see you tech savvy user, so just google for "android chroot" and you'll get detailed instructions.
As for more advanced installation.., it requre serious code modification, so there's absolutly no easy way. |

Robot, if eDGe is the Bible, then you're the Appostle. You're showing us what can be done even before we're ready to ask the question ;-)

It may look that way but, Robot is busy working (professional) and "we" are still waiting for android 2.2 and the sdk.
