Now look me straight in the eye and tell me that you (as a user) would not prefer to have the very same iPad2 but with an additional SD slot at the same price?

I don't ever pull the SD card out of my Android tablet. I use USB and dropbox and email to transfer files to it.

BUT...at the same price I'd get the SD card just for flexibility. But it wouldn't be deal-breaker not to have it.

Now this comes back to what a certain RockdaMan said. Techies may run into problems with flash when they are really looking for them (with computing devices you will always find problems somewhere). But regular users like kennyc and others do not. Now who is Android designed for?

rollovers, fancy animations, and aesthetically appealing yet nonstandard controls, none of which work well on a device with a small screen and no mouse.

Scrolling the screen is a particularly egregious example. Android tablets don't use the traditional scroll bars of a mouse-based UI; instead, users swipe with their fingers to scroll. Flash apps don't seem to understand this concept. Once a Flash movie loads into part of the browser window, that part of the window no longer responds to swipes. If you need to scroll the window -- say, to make sure the Flash content is centered on the screen -- you have to carefully touch your finger on a portion of the page that corresponds to HTML, so the browser will know you're trying to scroll.

That's true most of the time, anyway. The worst part is the player's inconsistent behavior. This gets really frustrating when there's lots of HTML and Flash content mixed on a Web page. The UI turns into a tug-of-war between the browser and the Flash Player, where each touch produces varying effects, seemingly at random. Depending on where your finger happens to land -- and maybe on your timing -- one touch might be interpreted as a command for the browser and the next might activate controls in a Flash movie, while the next might do nothing. Adobe simply has not done enough to accommodate touch-based interfaces.

–I watched Best of Show on Amazon Video on Demand in hopes of performing an informal battery test. It drained the battery from 44% full to 15% full in one hour and 20 minutes. But during that time, the audio got out of sync, and then the picture froze–and I couldn’t get Flash to work properly again without rebooting the Xoom. At that point, I gave up with the battery test.
–Some other standard-definition video I tried, such as that at Bloggingheads.tv, worked reasonably well.
–I watched Glee in HD, again on Amazon, and it would play smoothly in full-screen mode for a few seconds, then sputter, then play smoothly, then sputter…
–I tried Bejeweled on Facebook; it was playable, but the animation was herky-jerky.
–Hulu, as I expected, blocks Flash Player on the Xoom.
–Google’s Picnik photo editor sort of works–I could load photos and apply effects. But the sliders that are everywhere in the interface don’t function properly; I don’t think they really understand touch input.
