I'm finding much less call for a light with the 650 compared to the 600. This will be down to the better screen with less reflection of course, but in most rooms the ambient light is enough to read by.

I agree. My very first ereader was the PRS900, and I was really impressed and satisfied with it. But after my 650 arrived, it's amazing how much better the newer screen is for reading.

Do you find that you miss the added inch?

I thought I'd miss it very much, but since I can't get hold of the 950 here in Denmark (I bought the 900 when I went to the US), I settled for the 650, despite it having a smaller screen.
Sometimes I'm annoyed when reading a pdf. But it's not that often it really, really matters, but you gain much more by changing orientation on the 900/950 than you do when doing the same on the 650. With that said, the smaller size of the 650 is really cool, and it's so thin compared to my 900.

I do think I'll get me a 950 at some point in the future, but that is just as much because it comes with wifi as well as the bigger screen (the screen alone, if it's as good as the 650 will be a big upgrade from the 900 on its own).

I'm in the same boat, I want a 950 but I'll have to wait at least 2 months before I can pick one up in the U.S. I think I'll hold out. While I'm sure I'd love the 650, I can't justify getting myself two new readers.

Ereaders is one area I have decided that I'll buy whatever I want, as long as I can get my grubby hands on it.

I'm hypersensitive to printed magazines, books and a host of other chemical stuff, so it's the only digital thing I choose "just because". I am contemplating buying one for my gf too (she can't read paper books, prints and such inside the house because of me), but as it is, she's either using her computer or my 900. Or read the stuff in her car (yes, really).

I think that if you want the 950 and what that offers, it's worth the wait. Me, I'm still trying to figure out how to get one shipped to Denmark.

I have to mention something about a case, cause I'm kind of jealous it probably won't be made for my 950 anytime soon. It looks like Noreve will be selling a case for the 650 at some point. There's a link on their front page under "Stay posted on the availability of upcoming products," http://www.noreve.com/product/Housse...Tradition.html

These are really nice cases, I got one for my boyfriend's nook. The leather is some of the nicest I've come across. They use a rail system to hold the reader, which is both very secure and unobtrusive. It keeps them small, too, not much larger than the reader itself. The covers are pricey, though it's not quite as bad as it looks at first glance if you're in the US (the prices include VAT, which US folks don't pay), and depends on the current exchange rate. There are some coupons floating around that help a bit, and they occasionally put things on sale. The other downside is that anything but standard black takes about a month to arrive. Worth it, though.

I just ordered a brown leather flip case from Tuff Luv . I figure it will keep the 650 reasonably protected and reasonably narrow/slim.

I got a Tuff-Love case from Amazon a week ago (before the Wikileaks saga broke because they're on my blacklist now).

It's quite nice, I had thought I might prefer a more traditional book style case, but I can prop it on my chest and read on the sofa or in bed very comfortably.

I got the Sony lighted cover and I'm not too disappointed in it. I looked at it in person before getting it and I had a coupon to get it half off at Borders after thanksgiving. It is great when I'm holding it in my left hand but when I switch to right handed holding it swings out away from the cover on the hinges that hold it in place. Does anyone have any great way to hold it back against the cover? Like attaching a loop of elastic to the right side or something? I'd prefer not to add any velcro or sticky tape to my reader.

AGB, that's the one I have (pics 1 page back in the thread) it does add a bit of thickness, but I feel it's an excellent case.

I figure it's a bit more elegant and practical than two rubberbands and the thin piece of plywood I use as a makeshift solution. And it's much cheaper than buying the Sony "premium" here in Denmark (it's the only one available). I prefer leather to be brown, it seems more natural than black for some reason.

Halk : is it possible for you to give me the exact size of the cover (in metric system if possible) ? I'm looking for a cover to replace the Sony cover + light which is really good, but I want a slimmer cover for carrying the reader in daytime, the Sony cover I would use only at night then. But I don't know if the Tuff Luv is really narrower.

I went from the PRS-900 to the 650 and I don't miss the extra inch much at all. The improved screen makes the experience much better. I also think the 650 balances in the hand better, aside from being much lighter, and the lighted cover illuminates the entire screen so much better than the 900's lighted cover did.

I just ordered mine from I-nique, http://www.i-nique.com/model.asp/cn=4/c=561 they have quite nice selection of covers for all readers and have Christmas promotion of 15% or 20% if order is over £50 (just add the promo code from the banner). Although I like the Sony's lighted cover, I'm bit concerned about the amount of protection it offers because I carry the reader in my backbag every day.
