This thread could be veering into P&R territory. Please take any further comments about Mother Teresa there.

$4.98 Whispersync Deal on Napoleon: Rise of an Empire.
The full title of the ebook is Napoleon: Rise of an Empire (The True Story of Napoleon Bonaparte) (Historical Biographies of Famous People). It's by Alexander Kennedy.
There are a couple of oddities about this WS deal. Allow me to mention some of them before I go any further. One, the Kindle ebook is a "sponsored deal." I've seen that before about a paper-based book at Amazon, but I don't remember seeing it for a Kindle ebook. Two, the audiobook apparently is not sold at Audible. That's a negative, because some of you peeps would like to know some things about the audiobook before buying the WS deal, right? Third, the book not only is not rated at GoodReads--it doesn't even appear there (again, apparently). And I may be leaving out some other oddities. Part of the reason for the anomalies is no doubt that the ebook is published by Amazon, and is (again, apparently) a self-pub. And I'm probably missing some odd aspects to this ebook and its WS deal. But, it's a good self-pub, if it is. The book's got 61 reviews at Amazon, with an average rating of 4.1. That's respectable. It's 178 pages long. Again, that's respectable. The price of the WS deal, as mentioned in the title of this post, is $4.98 (the ebook portion is $2.99; the Audible narration is $1.99). Go here if you want to buy the deal. I had the opportunity, just now, to listen to the Audible sample of the above ebook on Napoleon.
Some of you, who have bought and listened to a lot of ebooks, might recognize the name of the narrator, if you saw it. However, since there is no webpage at Audible for the audiobook, supplying that information, I am unable to help you there. Some of you might even be able to determine who the narrator is from listening to his voice; I certainly cannot do that. Having listened to the sample, however, I can give you my impression of the narration. The narration moves relatively fast (a good thing, in my opinion). The narrator has a "clean" American-English accent (or lack of any accent, depending upon how you look at it)--that Midwestern accent that all national radio and television (and Internet?) on-air personalities seem to aspire to. However, the narrator has a slight whistling lisp, or there is some flaw in the recording process, that takes a little getting used to. The narration, all in all, is a thumbs up. |

$2.98 Whispersync Deal on a Jonathan Lynn Satirical Novel.
Get the Whispersync deal on Jonathan Lynn's Samaritans, for only $2.98 ($0.99-ebook + $1.99-audio narration).
An amazing deal, especially since it's rated 4.8 stars, from 25 reviews, at Amazon. The length of the book is a respectable 241 pages. It seems to be a humorous (satirical) take on the U.S. health care system. Here's some stuff to read about the book: Samaritans Medical Center, Washington DC, can't seem to look after itself and its increasingly desperate doctors, let alone its patients. The chairman of the board, billionaire arms dealer and part-time philanthropist David Soper, decides that it's time to kill or cure. Business School alumnus and Las Vegas hotel genius Max Green is the perfect man for the job. A man of vision. A man with a mission. A man who knows that wealth-care is smarter than healthcare. He's going to make Samaritans great again. Andrew Sharp, star cardio-thoracic surgeon, turns his back on the NHS and buys in to this brave new world of Porsches and payola. But when his American Dream turns into a living nightmare, Andrew discovers that even the new-found love of his assistant, Cathy, may not be enough to save him… That's from the webpage for the book; you can also read there a profusion of praise for the book, from numerous people. Get the whole Whispersync deal by going to the eook's webpage at Amazon. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 06-16-2018 at 07:26 PM. |

Whispersync Deal on Anthology of Fiction Intended for Christian Women--$2.98!
It's on Chapel Springs Revival. This is Book 1 of 4 of the Chapel Springs series. Ane Mulligan is the author.
Right now the deal is only $2.98 ($0.99-ebook + $1.99-audio narration). Great reviews (4.4 stars, from 156 reviews, at Amazon). Good (length) of ebook (256 pages). Description: With a friend like Claire, you need a gurney, a mop, and a guardian angel. Everybody in the small town of Chapel Springs, Georgia, knows best friends Claire Bennett and Patsy Kowalski. It's impossible not to, what with Claire's zany antics and Patsy's self-appointed mission to keep her friend out of trouble. And trouble abounds. During an early morning discussion at Dees 'n' Doughs bakery with their ladies group, all Chapel Springs entrepreneurs, attention is drawn to the slackened tourist trade. With their livelihoods threatened, they join forces to address the town's revitalization in hopes of drawing back the tourists. No one could have guessed the real issue needing restoration is their marriages. Claire, a pottery artist, stumbles through life with her foot in her mouth. When she became a Christian, she thought life and her marriage would be included in the new creation part. But her thighs are just as big and her husband, Joel, is as ornery as ever. She's become nothing more than a sheet-changer, a towel-folder, a pancake-flipper. Her life is humdrum and she's tired of being taken for granted. Patsy has plans for her empty nest, plans that include a cruise ship. However, her husband, Nathan, continues to work long hours, and he's not talking about slowing down. In fact, he's not talking much at all. She's asleep long before he comes home each night. At first she thought it was just because of tax season, but now she's not so sure. Something other than work seems to keep him late at the office every night. With the lines of communication closed, she'll have to find another way to reach him. With their marriages as much in need of restoration as the town, Claire and Patsy embark on a mission of mishaps and miscommunication, determined to restore warmth to Chapel Springs and their lives. That is if they can convince their husbands and the town council, led by two curmudgeons who would prefer to see Chapel Springs left in the fifties and closed to traffic. Written for the General Market (G) (I): Contains little or no; sexual dialogue or situations, violence, or strong language. May also contain some content of an inspirational/religious nature. Similar women’s fiction novels in this genre may be categorized as: women’s fiction, inspirational women’s fiction, christian fiction, and clean, wholesome women’s fiction. The other three books in the series do not have a special WS price on them at this time. Ebook's webpage, where you also can get the WS deal. Oh, I forgot, and I always like to bring up this information: the audiobook alone, at Audible is $21.95, or one credit. So, the choice is yours: $21.95 for just the audiobook, or $2.98 for the audiobook and the ebook, with syncing. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 06-17-2018 at 08:45 PM. |

Erwin Lutzer's One Minute After You Die.
Great WS deals are getting as scarce as hens' teeth.
Unless the ebook is a Kindle Exclusive, the audio narration rarely is less than $7.49. Then, after having bought the ebook, well . . . . you end up not having a cheap WS deal anymore. But here's one that is only _$3.98_! It's a "Christian Interest" book, _One Minute After You Die_, by Erwin Lutzer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TTCHT5O. Finally--A respectably-priced Whispersync deal!
It's on _Process: the Writing Lives of Great Authors_, by Sarah Stodola. The deal is _$5.48_. Here's how the price breaks down: $1.99-book + $3.49-audio narration from Audible. https://www.amazon.com/Process-Writi...kbubemail10-20. I remember the ebook appearing as a markdown recently. It may not have had a Whispersync deal on it then. If you bought the ebook, but not the audio narration, I think that you can buy it now, separately, for only $3.49. My apologies for the poor formatting of my messages lately. I think that I've isolated the problem that my real computer has, and it looks like I'll get by cheaply this time! No more using the smartphone as my (only) computer! I'm going to order the part just as soon as I get through with this post. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 09-15-2018 at 11:38 AM. |

I get the best results simply by running Audible Matchmaker now and then. I picked up five audible titles ($1.99 each) just today. The catch is of course you must already own the kindle book. Not a problem for me as I buy the titles that look interesting when they go on sale for a buck or two. If you do this and run matchmaker every few weeks you may be surprised at the result.
