I don't recall S as the last letter being clued. The clue was that it could be thought of as a group of tihngs, but not necessarily a plural.

This is certainly more fun than a bunch of humdingers.

I disagree. You previously stated that the following three words contained all the letters we needed except one. Which was the S.

Unless you're being very devious I would hazard that there is a g in the word we are looking for a k or f or n or a as well.

hydrangeas? Expecting the answer no, because none of those three words had an S or Y. So I'd be missing two letters.
