Yep, got it working again. But this is the worst contest ever, even the 45% are hard to come by and certainly not even as many 35% as last time IMO. If Kobo ever does away completely with the contests I wouldn't buy from them, JMO. Overall my experience has been 99% better with Amazon regarding pricing and definitely formatting.

Re: agency books not in IN, well, if you consider that the prices went up a ton anyways, and the contest codes no longer worked, the most we were getting off was 30-35% which didn't equate to a bargain anyways. Time will tell what they're up to I suppose but if you consider those things, it really wouldn't have that big of an impact.

Has anyone used Swagbucks points to buy a Kobo gift card? I assume it's an egift card, and I'm just wondering if it will work, and if so, which countries it will work in.

I've had success buying a physical Kobo gift card at Fry's and using it to "travel," but am not familiar with the egift cards.

The new pricing of ebooks in the india store means I might check out the book to see how much it is, but I don't buy from there anymore.

They're way too dear in India now, and the Contest codes don't work and there are no good non Contest codes floating about.

So basically, it means that I don't buy books from Kobo anymore because the Contest codes don't work on the authors/books that I want in the CA UK or US stores.

A lose lose for Kobo.

Yep, I think that they're now charging English language books in the India store based on the price of the publishing country. That is, if the book was published by a UK publisher then they convert the GBP into IRS.

For books written in Hindi I've no doubt that they're the same prices as usual.

Kobo has found another way of losing my book buying business.

It works like a giftcard, you enter the code at purchase and the rest (if any) goes into a balance on your account.
