It was a very hot day today, around 35C/95C. I'm glad I got up at 6am and got all the chores done before 10am because after that the best thing was to sit or lie really still.
Earlier today the predictions promised nice thunderstorms this evening and night, now they say there might be some thunderstorms. Luckily tomorrow it's going to be rainy and only 25C/77C, which is much better. |

Huge night-time thunderstorms last night - blew in at 1 am - continuous lightning with house shaking thunder for an hour - with torrential rain.
Continued hot & humid .... |

Today was a really seriously hot one, and when it gets hot in London, England, it gets humid too, which is exhausting. Thank heavens a cool breeze has sprung up now that it's evening.

Well, that was exciting, a severe thunderstorm just blew through - going out soon to see what was bouncing off the roof - very strong winds, etc.

Hopefully, it wasn't a part of the roof banging up and down.
(at my place that would probably mean tiles were being lifted) |

No - some of the noise was caused by high winds blowing a broom, and other wood objects, off the back porch onto the driveway. This storm came up suddenly out of nowhere - we didn't have time to clear off the porch & deck.

Good to know it wasn't anything major.
I am really hoping that our last mild winter and spring doesn't mean that we are going to have a freezing cold winter nor a flooding rains spring. |

88F/31C with a heat index of 99F/37C. We are supposed to have storms today (and desperately need some), but as of yet, I don't see a cloud in the sky.

Yep - we're waiting for our afternoon/evening line of 'strong to severe storms' to roll through. Supposed to drop the temps, but not the humidity levels. Sigh....

Heavy rains this morning -- as if that were news! Some locations near us got almost seven inches of rain in just a few hours! Some garden plants are starting to die from being over watered.

Line of storms chugging our way - then (allegedly) cooler air mass ... hope we live to see it ...
