Hello, as partner and head of criminal law in Scotland's oldest law firm allow me to introduce the first in a trilogy of legal thrillers following the trials and tribulations of Scots criminal lawyer Robbie Munro as he heads up his fledgling law firm in the Royal Burgh of Linlithgow. Assisted by a keen, if inconveniently ethical, legal trainee and a formidable secretary, Robbie joins battle in the fight for truth and justice - hoping truth and justice don’t win too often or Munro & Co. will be out of business.

Relatively Guilty

Credit may be crunching all around but crime is booming and to add to busy caseload come instructions in a homicide. A policeman with a caved-in skull, his young wife found clutching the blood-stained murder weapon; it all looks pretty open and shut until Robbie detects the faint whiff of a defence and closes in on a witness who might cast a precious doubt on proceedings.

So why is it, the nearer he gets to the truth and a possible acquittal, that Robbie’s murder client becomes more and more eager to opt for a life sentence?

In the midst of these hectic trial preparations, complications arise in Robbie’s personal life. His love life may not be DOA but it’s in a high dependency unit, his brother, a former soccer legend, has carelessly killed the daughter of a Glasgow gangster and has a price on his head while Robbie finds himself in the dock on a counterfeiting charge that looks set to end his career in the law.

If only his life were as simple as that of the folk of the Vendee where Robbie’s search for his elusive witness takes him and where, on the salt marshes of the Loire estuary, he hears the tale of the mythical Twinfish and suddenly everything seems a whole lot clearer.

*****

The book is available for a measly 89p at the moment, though soon to rise to a whopping 99p as I intend to donate this month's proceeds to comic relief. Go on - enjoy a good read and do something for charity at the same time. Everyone's a winner.

.99 special for Radium Halos

Radium Halos is historical fiction based on the true events of the Radium Dial Painters, a group of female factory workers who, in the early 1920s, contracted radiation poisoning from painting luminous watch and clock dials with radium paint. Our narrator is Helen Waterman, a 65-year-old mental patient who worked at the factory when she was 16. She tells us her story through flashbacks, slowly revealing her past, the loved ones she’s lost, and the dangerous secrets she’s kept all these years.

Five stars from Red Adept's Reviews.

Available here for only .99 for a limited time: http://amzn.to/bRhyd7

Hi both my thrillers are featured on daily cheap reads today, both priced at 99cents.

Here's the blurb for Impeding Justice.

Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins comes up against her long-time nemesis, The Unicorn. After leading Simpkins and her partner into a trap, in which Pete is killed, Lorne comes to the conclusion the criminal is obtaining insider information, enabling him to stay one step ahead of them.

With the informant out of the way, The Unicorn needs to find another way to keep Lorne on her toes, so he kidnaps the D I’s teenage daughter. But, Lorne’s troubles don’t end there. She is forced off the case by a Superintendent with a ten-year vendetta against her father. Fortunately, the Chief Inspector insists Lorne’s vast expertise is needed to solve the case.
The investigation takes a surprising turn when one of the region’s most precious landmarks is held to ransom by The Unicorn, but this merely turns out to be yet another one of his frivolous decoys, as his true audacious plan unfolds…

Hope you enjoy it.

"Heir to the Everlasting"/aka "Staten Bay Trilogy"--books 2 & 3

In 2004, I published Book One of my proposed "Staten Bay Trilogy." The title of that novel is "Just Doll." Oddly, readers either loved or hated it and as it turned out there were more haters than lovers of the book. Consequently, among other publishing problems, I had to re-think how to market the 2nd and 3rd books of the trilogy, which were already written. Time passed and I got sidetracked with writing other novels, but I never forgot the trilogy, part of my heart. I tried a couple of times to interest publishers with the original idea, but no takers. Rather than give up, I grudgingly combined and renamed the 2nd and 3rd books, as well as the characters, to make a big generational, plantation novel. The plantation itself, Staten Bay, got renamed Big Eddy. More changes, more work, and my agent sent it out several times. Finally, last year, BelleBridge Books, in Memphis, TN got interested. This was a second book for me with BBB, and from my experience with "The Little Known" I knew they would give "Heir" all they had--that's how dedicated and thorough they are. So, now, as of February 2011, my proposed Staten Bay Trilogy, in a slightly different form, is out in bookstores. I'm happy! Janice Daugharty

Where Dreams are Born, e-book or print book

After enduring traumatic childhoods, a single mom and a widower struggle to create a stable family life for their children despite those who would do them harm.

Judith of The Book Binge says, “This is truly a compelling novel of real life and one that I think will stay with me a long time. I will probably go and re-read it one day soon--way too much here to grasp just one time through. And it is what made this novel one that I read straight through. There are surprises, twists, turns, and some significant "speed bumps" in the course of the story. It is entertaining as well as deeply emotional, and it was remarkably free of those "dead spots" that seem to be in some stories--flat places where I find myself reading a sentence or two on one page before going on to the next. I think you will like this book if you like a good contemporary love story populated with vibrant characters mixed in with some mystery and suspense.”

First two chapters on joycedebacco.com. Thanks for reading.

Blighted by an eye disease, Joanna Raines undergoes a corneal transplant operation to stop her going blind. The procedure is successful, but in the weeks that follow she begins to see dark coronas surrounding certain people. By turns fearful that something has gone wrong and worried that she's going crazy, Joanna searches for an answer to the phenomena.

What she finds will change her life forever. The transplant has opened a door in her mind, and the strange coronas are not legacies of the operation but proof that a legion of demons plans to invade the earth!

Now the only thing that stands between the demonic horde and their plot to take over the world is Joanna, a young woman with the power to see them for what they really are.

Seeing is believing.

The demons are real.

Joanna just has to convince everyone else before it's too late.

Chelsea Coxheart murders people in her dreams, a fact of which she's not proud. She'd really rather be normal.
Thomas is the man she's loved all of her life, mostly from afar. He's a Mare, a creator of nightmares. Chelsea understands that his work is important. People need nightmares to keep them on the straight and narrow. The problem is, Mares hunt her in her dreams, and when they get too close, sometimes she has to kill them. It makes the relationship a bit...tricky.
Then an elderly woman is murdered, a Dream Person, a creator of pleasant dreams. There is a new killer in town, and it's a Mare. Chelsea suspects that she'll be the next victim, considering her, um, proclivities. Should she join forces with the Dream People, those annoying, hollow-eyed losers, or stick it out alone, as she's always done?

If you've read this far, which I kind of doubt, check out The Shadow Dreamer.http://www.amazon.com/The-Shadow-Dre...9705606&sr=1-1

The latest 5* review for my second SF novel Passengers to Zeta Nine on Amazon UK begins:

"Whilst Peter Salisbury writes satisfying, convincing and intelligent science fiction, Passengers to Zeta Nine also worked for me as both a very human story of camaraderie and the human spirit and also an intriguing mystery."

I hope this will encourage you to click through and read the rest of the review and decide the book is worthy of your attention.

Three more books/short stories always free on Smashwords.
