If I understand it correctly, Ford Audiobook Club (FAC) says that they want to turn control of it over to someone who has been involved with the club. So, the club doesn't have to end!

I would hereby like to nominate tubemonkey to take it over. Does anyone wish to second that motion?

Thanks to Ford for the books they've provided. It's nice to see corporate sponsorship for audiobooks and great while it lasted.

Now that Ford is withdrawing themselves from this club, I have to wonder why it needs to remain open. After all, there won't be any new content; so what's the point in having this club now?

I just received two free credits from Audible.

I was in the process of switching my 16GB Fire HD6 for my granddaughter's 8GB Fire HD6 because she need the extra storage and I didn't. So I did a factory reset to wipe out my info and settings, and then re-registered it (still under my name). During this process, I was offered a free 30-day trial for Audible with two credits. I took it and figured I'd get rejected if I tried to use them; but I wasn't rejected and spent both of them fast. What I find weird is that I was recently rejected for the current Groupon promo, but not this one. Go figure.

Also, the author has another short not in this series that is already available and free. If you are interested in "Little Donkey: A Short Story," it can be found here. This appears to be a Christmas-themed fiction, though not a Christian-themed book (I haven't read it, so I could be wrong).

It's been a while since I posted this. Did you enjoy these? I did; I found them quirky and intelligent - just enough sci-fi and written with a dash of comedy and decent characterization.

If you enjoyed them, Jodi is back at Audible with another free short offering from "The Chronicles of St. Mary" series. You can currently pre-order "Ships and Stings and Wedding Rings" by Jodi Taylor here. The book is due for release November 13; I have no idea if it will still be free after that (heck, I don't even know if it will be free up to that date) so if you're interested don't delay.
