Or even many years later, since these high-value codes (or oopsies) seem to be rarer and rarer. So I'm quite happy to have stocked up when I could, even if I haven't read (or re-read, since I was replacing a lot of DTB) a lot of the books yet. I'm not all that close to retirement, but within sight of it, and I expect I'll be reading a lot more books then...

And I got some shelf space in my house back by taking a lot of DTB to my library's book sale....

in that particular spree I bought 12 and read 11 but since last year kobo was much more generous with the coupons I see that I bought a total of 92 books for under 94€, all bought with discount an ranging from 0,15€ to 2,31€ so on average each book was less that 1€, and I still have 8 to read, which is good since this year with the contest being so bad I only bought 4, I'm still hoping for something like that to hapen again so I can reduce my to buy list

Well I've had a merry time with the various 90% off multi-use codes we've had over the last 18 months or so.

Now that the good value codes have dried up I've got plenty to read and, like Issybird, my purchasing mania has also been licked.

Same here. I normaly bought few books every month but now I even can't remember when I bought my last one. Sometimes I realy miss those high multi-use codes.

I have accumulated 633 books since coming to Kobo and have completed 61 of them so far. So I guess I'm nearing my 'break even' point by your calculation. That said, I mostly read nonfiction, so tend to read several books in parallel ... have 28 on my 'I'm Reading' shelf at the moment.

A list of non-agency publishers is provided in this post
I want to buy from a publisher called Sounds True. It is not supposed to work? Are they agency? They are small, but not on the above list.

Any way to buy /DRM free/ EBUP at Kindle prices? I like EPUB format.

If you list the book, one of us can see if it's discountable for us, but you can usually tell by finding the book and then look on the left sidebar--there's a link about halfway down maybe that says "list promo eligible books only." The book will disappear after you click that if it isn't eligible. Of course, sometimes they are eligible anyway, but it's a place to start.

Kindle prices are often the same as Kobo. The other place to buy is Google. They are fairly closely aligned in price to Kindle. Failing that, try the publisher site itself. I buy direct from authors and/or publishers and they often have the best price or certainly match Amazon's pricing.

35OFFSALE is still working. If anyone would be interested in DragonKin if they had book #1 in the series, Dragons of Wendal also works with the coupon.

I can't find this.

By the way: do I apply the code at checkout where it says: "Have a gift card? Use it here."

It appears to be discountable in the US for me. No, that is not where the promo code goes. They are sneaky (or disorganized). You must first select the payment type, which is on that screen with the gift card. Then the NEXT screen (in about the same spot) will have a spot for a promo code.

If you have a coupon that is not expired, it should work.

The book is still cheaper at Amazon even with Kobo's 35% off code.

It works; thanks! The Kobo page is really not friendly for its coupons.

By the way, I am new to Kobo. And this is bad: Why is Kobo Price-Gouging Some Customers But Not Others?

as Peter said--old article. It should also be noted, as you will find if you hang out here enough, that more often than not, actions by Kobo are not really mean-hearted attempts to beat money out of people. They are just random. Inexplicable. They often appear to update code in one country but not another (checkouts, for example). They sometimes seem to...well, let's just say that if they were an evil empire, they'd fail. It's more like watching the night sky and wondering where the next falling star will appear...will my coupon work? Will it work in some countries or no countries? Will it keep working after expiration? When it does work, will the book download?

Random. The only explanation is Chaos Magic.
