I've read all of these in the print editions and can recommend them. My favourite is Tanya Huff - I like pretty well everything she's published. The Inda series is part of Smith's multiverse, and seems to be pitched at a slightly younger reader (older YA?), the Elliott is seriously complex - it helps if you know something of Dark Age European history especially in terms of the early Holy Roman Empire. Wikipedia should help here.
