I just finished Modern Jews Engage the New Testament by Rabbi Michael J. Cook. A wonderful book and a must read for all who wish a deeper understanding of both the Jewish and Christian faith traditions. The author was recommended to me by a friend who, like the books' author, is a Reform rabbi.

This is the 80th book I've read in 2011, if you don't count the 26 Letters of the Ante-Nicene Fathers I've also read this year.

Finally finished N Gregory Mankiw's Principles of Economics. On Amazon it's priced more than $200. At that range you'll expect something... brilliant. Or it's printed on gold leaves.

I'm currently reading Snow by Ronald Damien Malfi and it's turning out to be a great horror with some rather creepy bits.

In response to this I took a short break and read 2 short stories by G. Norman Lippert that are connected to that Wizarding World, Harry's First Christmas and Merlin's Gift. I liked them both a whole lot. Harry's First Christmas serves as a back story for the Harry Potter books and Merlin's Gift as a back story for the James Potter series as well as ties in as a back story for several myths and fairy tales.

Anyway, now back to The Riverhouse!!
Finished The Riverhouse!! Enjoyed it a lot! It is an unusual ghost story with a quite unusual haunted house.

I just bought another G. Norman Lippert book, his latest, just released last month. It's called Ruins of Camelot and appears to be a straight fantasy, which I don't normally read, but it was the only thing by G. Norman Lippert (I seem to be on a G. Norman Lippert spree) available that I hadn't already read and was only $2.99 at lulu.com.

I'm a big, big David Fincher fan, which means under normal circumstances, I'd be excited for his next film, the adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Having read said book a while ago, but never having seen the films [I knew the films were edited from a six part TV series, and so wanted to see that instead] I decided to re-read the first book, then read the second & third book, before the film comes out [Started The Girl Who Played With Fire last night].

I also found out that I'll be getting Millennium - the original Swedish six part TV series, on blu-ray as a Christmas / Birthday present from a relative, so it's looking like December is going to be Steig Larrson month in my house!

I've decided to re-read the Ender's Game series at the same time that I'm enjoying Killing Lincoln (didn't expect to since I was a history major who does nothing related to history for a living).
Also just finished Jarka Ruus by Terry Brooks.......had to catch up from over a decade of not reading any of his books.

Just finished:

- No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy - Exactly like the movie... I mean exactly. Except the ending of the movie comes about four chapters from the end of the novel, and so the story keeps going a little bit longer, but there's not really anything important there that wasn't in the movie. Just a little bit more backstory on Tommy Lee Jones' character.

Currently reading:

- God, No: Signs You May Already Be an Atheist and Other Magical Tales by Penn Jillette (70%)

- 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami (64%)

- Bossypants by Tina Fey (~38%) (audiobook)

- 11/22/63 by Stephen King (16%)

- The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (12%)

eBooks I will be reading as soon as I finish these:

- A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin

- The Nerdist Way by Chris Hardwick

- The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz

- The Night Eternal by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan

eBooks I'm on the waiting list for at my library:

- Plugged by Eoin Colfer
