Unfortunately you are correct. Contest codes only work in the country store where the coupon code was "won", i.e. if you are playing the contest in the US store, the code can only be redeemed in the US store. The loophole of being able to use contest codes (especially on books by the big 6) by traveling to India, etc. has been closed

A question. Are the codes that people put up one time use? I tried all the 45% codes that Apesmom put up on some Openroadmedia books and not one worked. I've successfully used 35% coupons on them before, so I'm just wondering.

I purchased a book at Kobo that wouldn't download -a self published DRM free epub. It gave me the "Oops..." error. Called customer service and the rep couldn't download it either. He placed the title in their "Bad Book List" and promptly gave me a refund.

I notified the author by email of the problem and repurchased the book from B&N without an issue.

It sounds like you are in US. If I am in US, I will buy from booksamillion.com because I noticed their eBooks are discounted or are cheaper than those from Amazon.com.
I just looked at booksamillion and they are cheaper than Amazon and Google and of course they are cheaper than Kobo since coupons can't be used. Thanks! They are standard ADE for the big publishers, right?

Well, sometimes it's our fault (doesn't pass epub checker, but that is not always clear) and sometimes it's something Kobo does. It's a partnership, but I've found that it pays to check and double-check. We're always grateful to readers who write to let us know there is a problem!!!

He'll probably never know. I've worked on a couple of problems and sometimes it gets fixed and no one bothered to tell me how or why. In the end, you just have to be glad it was fixed!!
