The Zuni Cafe Cookbook: A Compendium of Recipes and Cooking Lessons from San Francisco's Beloved Restaurant. By Judy Roger; Gerald Asher (contributor).

A little too hoity toity for me, and not really my kind of food. But the book's huge (570 pages); very highly rated at Amazon and GoodReads, and--I've saved the best for last--it's only $1.99, a sweet 92% off of the digital list price ($24.49). I had to post this one.

Note that it is a "cookbook," it has more than a recipe for cherry pie.

If a pie uses real cherries, I'd probably love it. If it's made from cherry pie filling, I'll skip it. Yuck! I don't know if the preview says, but the photos look like the pie(s) is(are) the real McCoy. Yum!

This is a real crumby book! But it's definitely not crummy! That is, if the ratings and rankings are accurate. It's got a 4.8 (32) rating at Amazon and a 4.22 (109) rating at GoodReads! And it's a #1 seller in three Amazon book or Kindle ebook categories.

It doesn't skimp on the number of pages, either--it's got 336.

It's written by Ruby Tandoh.

The only downside? It's marked down "only" 80% from the digital list price, being $2.99.
