Hi Catire, I hope you feel better now. Drink this big glass of water. To me your bad trip confirms me in an old wise saying Don't mix . And this other one that I just made up for you Don't scratch fresh scabs and don't put alcohol on them, especially while eating (that would be, let's say... too casual) Last edited by beppe; 08-08-2010 at 02:08 AM. |

This is my weekend of weird. Yesterday with the passed out, drunk college student on the cabana bed. Today, I went to get a soda from the cooler and it was full to the brim with water. It apparently rained and blew so hard last night that it was filled with the cover securely on. Expecting a rain of frogs any minute, now...

Grief, intrinsically intertwined with so many of our emotions and relationships, and so deeply embedded in our Self, is by its nature as individual as every individual is. How we experience is by nature and necessity, unique. It comes from who you are (though it is not, in itself, who you are). Like so many experiences, there are commonalities we will share, and there are things that are you by yourself (but, with the empathy of the commonalities, not alone). I hope you can talk here more, whenever you need to. Quote:

It's so nice to find that I probably was right to take the 1895 Edinburgh edition as my initial starting point, despite subsequent doubts! Hmm... no’ so much a rant as a venting of a sigh of relief. |

Kindlekitten, I agree with Marc.
Throw the word "normal" out. Each of us has our own unique grief process. I lost my cousin 35 years ago. He suffered the same condition I have. He was 20 when he committed suicide. I wasn't told how he died for over 25 years. I always knew that he left this life voluntarily, though. He talks to me sometimes. He told me what he did. When I get close to that edge, I see him. |

I've been having freezer issues with my refrigerator the past few months. Seems the fan in the freezer compartment just stops sometimes and it takes a tweak/push on the blades to get it going again.....this is not atypical of cheap AC motors. But this morning was likely the final straw....the water to the icemaker did not shut off after filling up the tray and flooded the freezer compartment and the fresh food compartment......
I've been shopping for replacements all day so far...and cannot decide on which model...it did finally make ice correctly through one cycle... Oh and I noticed a slight backup of the sewer/drain that is not atypical.....I have to have the lines roto-rooted at least once a year and it's been 6 - 8 months or so... at least the computer is working (til it gets flooded by the fridge or the sewer!) Aiiiieee!!! So much for finishing the painting I was working on... |

I'm putting this here, though it isn't really my rant, but my daughter's. She was visiting last night and saw the Nintendo DS my son had in his room. She asks about it, knowing he didn't have one, especially as it was PINK. He tells her it was in the top of his closet when we moved, so he just took it with him. She gets looking and realizes it is my niece's DS. This isn't such a problem, except that my daughter is living with my niece's parents, and that DS was in a case at their house until about a week before we moved.
Did I mention my niece passed away a year ago this past Thursday? Now my daughter is stuck returning the missing DS and trying to explain how it got in her brother's closet. How do you explain that? It wasn't as if we were around the case carrying the DS, and my sister's grandson, other daughter's son, had the game just before it went missing. My son is 19 and the grandson is 2, not ages that interact, and we lived in different towns. How the heck did it get in my son's closet? He even called me in when he found it and asked if I knew anything about it. We got used to finding fishing line weights around everywhere after my dad died. When we moved my mother the last time we would pack up a drawer, know it was empty, but then find a weight later. Looking back the sheer number of weights that day should have been a clue that Daddy was preparing to welcome my mother the next day. He was letting us know he was around and waiting. But how to tell her aunt and uncle, still suffering from realizing it has been a year, just floored my niece. I think she had to have her friend drive her home because she was so worried. She is also upset that Eron, my niece, didn't contact her if she was in the house putting the DS in the closet. Yes, I am talking about after death. She sees dead people, and has for years. But is that something she can tell her aunt? I just don't know. |

I think I would just let it be and not upset the parents. if it is a message, it is obviously a message for the people in your house

But they have been looking for the DS. Right after their grandson went home they looked for it and found it missing. I think she should hide it under something and pretend the grandson did it.

We don't know how to explain its disappearance. They might believe what really happened, but I'm afraid it would affect them. It's well known in our family that we all have some degree of sensitivity. My 5 yo great niece started crying and saying "Eron died" before the phone even rang. She was almost hysterical. My father visited both my children and said good-bye before we even got the call.
I just don't want to bring up things that will hurt them. I guess they'll just have to understand. |
