Abbott Elementary, it's a pretty eye opening show and quite funny. Also Bluey, a show that unironically makes me tear up in some scenes and irritated the next (iykyk).

On Sunday and Monday evening I watched the second episode of Candela Obscura on YouTube (it's 4 hours long). I'm thoroughly enjoying this horror TTRPG.
Tonight I rewatched The Ring with Naomi Watts. It gets more dated every time I watch it and it's not just because it's about a VHS tape. The blue/green filter would fit better with a sci-fi movie than a horror. I'm going to watch one more movie tonight, I'm thinking the new Hellraiser. I can vaguely remember watching the original one when I was much too young. And whilst I can't remember what the movie was about, besides the image of Pinhead, it weirded me out. |

Sigh.
Such a bummer. Finally tried the new Justified:Primeval, last night (premiered two episodes this past Monday), and nope, it's not for me/us. I loved the original Justified and Mr. Wonderful liked it fine, but...not this. Harkening back to a recent "WAYW" conversation, YUP, throw in one bratty teenage kid (worse, played by Timothy Olyphant's actual daughter, so she's a NEPO)...in 15 minutes, we simply turned it off. And the horribly overdone, ubiquitous trope that the mean prosecutor, who OF COURSE is a woman beats Raylan like he's a dirty rug, as if he hasn't been in the Marshal's for 20+ years...it's just so damned tired. I may yet, in the next year, get desperate enough to watch it, but seriously, I'd watch Columbo episodes, or my umpteenth pass through the original Perry Masons, before I'll watch this. Olyphant said something in a recent interview, about how all their episodes were written, prior to the strike--lemme tell ya, in this instance, ChatGPT-4 very seriously could have done a better job. I wish they'd used it. BUMMER! Hitch |

Got 99 cent PBS/M & watched Astrid S2- still great;
DI Ray- not bad; final Endeavour- very good, big fan of Allam, Evans not so much, and about 5 too many "clever" plot twists; and Magpie Murders, very good adaptation of the Horowitz book. |

Last night I watched the first three episodes of Wolf Pack. Normally I'm not into werewolves much but I'm enjoying it.
This morning I watched the first two of the five part documentary Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie. About the murder of a french woman in a remote part of Ireland. I'll probably finish it tonight. |

Season 6 of Black Mirror. Far better than season 5 IMHO.

Made it through season 1 of The Umbrella Academy - intriguing plot lines & twists - but why is the only special effect used throughout strobing lights? Very annoying & painful to watch. Did enjoy Kate Walsh's Handler character. And Hazel and ChaCha are inspired characters and casting (Cameron Britton and Mary J. Blige)

Just started watching Good Omens 2. Written by Neil Gaiman and John Finemore.
BTW, if you haven't been fortunate enough to have heard John Finemore's Cabin Pressure series, I recommend that you go and start listening to it right now. 27 half hour episodes of pure delight, from Abu Dhabi to Zurich. (Zurich was a two-parter) |

I finished Wolf Pack this week, which was a fun series on MTV. Featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar. I've also watched a couple of episodes of Critical Role.
I think in the coming week I'll be focusing on series and movies I've put on my TBW list and have been lingering. I also need to update my two older Chromecasts. Last year I took one with me on vacation with my sister and got it to work for streaming by using my laptop as a wifi hotspot (Chromecast doesn't work with internet behind a login screen, as is often used at hotels and vacation rentals). The one I took on vacation earlier this year didn't want to work. So I'll have to see if I can update both and get them to work with the wifi hotspot at home. Then we can watch whatever we want, instead of having to rely on my own library. |

I'm watching David Tennent and Michael Sheen in another series of their show.
Well, another series of both the shows they star in. I'm watching the third series of Staged. I'm watching the second series of Good Omens. Both are marvellous! |

Tonight I finished Barkskins. Which was a good series from National Geographic. Unfortunately it was cancelled, so there will not be a second season.
I've started the second season of The Head. It's as unrealistic as the first season, but good enough to have on when cross stitching; it's easy to follow even if you're not concentrating on it. |

Over the past couple of years, I discovered that I had seemingly lost my sense of humor and was unable to watch, enjoy, or even remotely tolerate comedies ... of any type or from any era. (Excepting Coyote/roadrunner of course)
Then I discovered Only Murders in the Building - and I got hooked - even though I despise Martin Short, can barely tolerate Steve Martin, and had never seen Selena Gomez in anything. The unique blend of intentional bad acting, slapstick, really intricate plots, and totally unexpected twists and surprises, not to mention large dollops of non-pc material, has me laughing out loud again. And now the addition of Meryl Streep and Jesse Williams in season 3? Promises to be fun ... |

I've been watching Manhattan (fictionalized with some truth about the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos 1943-45) on FreeVee. Have to put up with commercials. If it's on AMC+, I don't have that.
After I watched the first 6 episodes of S1, I had some technical problems getting the next one to come on and then after watching 4 episodes in 1 night, it was all over. I'd watched E7-10 of Season 2. I was going to give it up, but the next night I continued S1. I'm hooked on it. S2 ends with the test explosion. It wasn't picked up for a 3rd season. Originally on WGN America in 2014 and 2015. Guess it was on cable, but I'd never heard of it. |
