You can email help@kobobooks.com, but I have found I get a much faster response if I fill out the web form (could be coincidence though.) Where it asks what category your issue falls under, Content purchase > Promotion issue > Faulty promo code would seem like the right choice.

The codes they send via email are keyed to a particular account, often.

So, if you have multiple accounts, you have to match the code to the one that received the email (just gift the book to your main account, if you don't want books in multiple accounts).

Sometimes they take a while to show up. Usually, but not always, this auto-link will redirect you to the current one for your signed-in region (except in Canada you have the option of switching languages to see 2 different applicable deals and no easy single-click access without doing so).

I used it on an agency book at Kobo International, and it worked. I bought the book, and then I tested it again with another account on a coupon-eligible book at Kobo US, and it's still working. So, I think it's a single use per account code.

Anyone else can try it and verify?


Edit: I think it may also have to do with using it once at old checkout, and once at new checkout. I'm sorry if that's the case. See if anyone can verify which situation it is.

I tested it on books on the India and Aus sites and it didn't work. However, alterego30 worked on those books on those sites.

Yeah, indeed it looks like it's only usable once on the old checkout, and once on the new checkout. Bummer.

Old checkout : Malaysia (price shown in USD, though)

New checkout : US

Alterego30 doesn't work in Malaysia. Or maybe it's just not working on old checkout. Boo.

And, interestingly enough, the CA one is on sale in the US, as well, it seems (and is on one of B&N's current sales). Not that I'd have an easy way to check for CA deals, without keeping two accounts logged in.

It must be a French thing... sort of like removing the ability to purchase gift cards or customer service that (a) is rude, (b) can't understand what their customers are saying half the time and (c) takes forever to do anything at all.

Well, admittedly sometimes they seem to skip days, but in this case, I think the problem may have been on your end.

I went back through the last week of your blog and then ran a search, and you're definitely missing some Kobo US daily deals that showed up in the interim (I remember one of them distinctively, because it had been a US-only sale book that I'd previously bought on the last day the coupon contest codes were working and I was surprised the $2.99 hadn't ended when the holiday sales did (now back up to full price when I check)).

Generally, Kobo Canada seems to pick an already-sale-priced book to feature that's usually also available in the US. But from time to time, they do pick something that's technically on sale, then give it an extra $2-3 discount just for that day, which Amazon/Google/iTunes usually also match, just until Kobo's extra price-drop is over. So it can end up being tricky to judge the "real" sale price.
