My wife likes most of Nora Robert's books and I was looking at the hardcover of Year One as a part of her Christmas gift. However, going by reviews, it seems very different from her previous books though sharing some themes so I'm a bit dubious. Anyone who has read it and care to comment on this? PM is likely best to keep from dragging this thread off-topic. Thanks for any feedback.

I haven't yet as I plan to wait until the entire trilogy has been released.

I send him a link to the author's blog post about it. New Directions (Fall Into the Story blog) from Nov 2016 where she talked about how it would NOT be a romance.

I've heard from a couple of reader friends about it. One thought it was horror-lite, while another said it was like a cross between her Key trilogy and the Circle trilogy, but definitely without romance. There's apparently a very large cast of characters.

I have posted before about upgrading my Kindle Paperwhite. Now it's really on it's last legs. I need to decide whether to replace it with a mini LCD tablet or another e-ink reader. What would you do? Lately I don't like to read on my phone which has a 5.2 inch screen unless I have no other choice. So I would get some kind of Android tablet (not a Kindle fire though) or one of the higher end e-ink Kindles--the Voyage or the Oasis.

I'd get another Paperwhite. The new version is really nice. Which one do you have? I have the very first version someday I'll get the newest.

If you like to read a lot, but get eye strain, I'd recommend a dedicated e-ink reader. Also, even though tablets are pretty light weight these days, they are still heavier than a Kindle and harder on my wrists for longer term reading.

Tablets IMHO just aren't the same for longer reading sessions. I occasionally read on my iPad if I have a library book through Hoopla or Axis 360, but in general, I still prefer an e-reader. I have a 4 yr old paperwhite that is still going strong and I would consider it my primary reading device.

I love my Voyage, but if that's out of your price range, go for the latest Paperwhite.

I'm sticking with E-ink until they don't make 'em anymore.

I traded in my Voyage for a new Oasis. I love it! It’s very comfortable to hold and I like the warmer hue of the light.
