After a long period of drinking different black teas in the office I am back to Assam BPS CL Mangalam, thanks to Tea House Emporium in Bath. I loved the first cuppa. I think it is the only black tea that I can feel its taste in the office. Maybe Ahmad Hampton Breakfast is the next. I could feel its flavour, sometimes. I have another tin the office that I will open soon to accompany Assam Mangalam.

Cuppa #2
Chai. Fortnum and Mason
I think there is enough for one more cup. Most likely when I order new teas online from them, I will include chai in the order (in a couple of years)

Horrible attitude for a doctor! Yes, we need to feel pain to let us know when something is wrong, i.e. take our finger out of the flame, fix a broken ankle, etc., but pain is a very serious matter and should be avoided at all costs, especially voluntary pain such as piercings, tattoos, tight shoes, bowling ball finger holes, hard saddles on bicycles, etc.

Exercising until it hurts? Not on yer nelly!
Hurts so good? Not for me, please
Pain of love? Hogwash! I want the pleasure of love!

Having a mug of Keemun tea and watching storm clouds gather. I just saw pairs of various animals heading down towards the docks so I think there is going to be a major rain storm coming through...

I have got a feeling that most of doctors are like that.
Remember sitting in a dentist chair when I complained about a few bits of bones left in my gum after tooth extraction.
He found it, pressed on it and said: feels a bit tender? when he pressed on its there was such a pain, I though I am going to faint. He called it a bit tender...

Self inflicted pain is a different realm. Might be a bit private I am not going to venture there. Horses for courses.

I love the way you put it! I have contemplated about it quite a few times in my life. It makes me wonder again about what you and I said in the beginning of this post

Spoiler:
On the other hand, it is hard to believe you are afraid of pain. Your life was full of so much danger and risk that usually precede pain. You could not possible avoid it, yet you never deviated from the course you have chosen...or you are just a very brave man

My ability to endure pain seems to increase when I'm on my own, but reduce when there's someone asking "does it hurt?"

That's something to remember when you have a child of your own.
Watch children playing. When one falls down, he/she looks around to see if Mommy is watching. If Mommy freaks out and comes running over, baby begins to howl. If Mommy doesn't think the world is coming to an end, the baby picks himself up and continues to play as if nothing has happened.

Rooibos Capetwon. Settling back into work after a nice weekend with the family.

There are so many wonderful posts but it would be far to time consuming to respond to 8 pages of posts. I enjoy learning about everyone here. You all have such interesting lives and histories.

My cup currently has some limeade and a couple of watermelon-juice ice-cubes. My other vessel of refreshment contains some kind of coffee. I forget. It's one of the Gavina types. Friend gave me a brick that he gets every month. It's tasty as all get-out.

Astra, I like you're brother's attitude It's how I feel too: everyone feels pain every now and then. It's only natural and part of being alive.

I used to buy lots of sneaker when I was younger too, now I usually wear high heels. Maybe you'll change too But sneakers are great as well. Very sensible footwear

It all depends on where you want a tattoo. Maybe having a tattoo on your stomach doesn't hurt too bad. But I think getting a tattoo on your ribcage hurts a lot more than ant bites

On a more serious note: I just found out that Wouter Weylandt, a Belgian cyclist, died after a 20m fall in the Giro today ... He lived in Ghent, was 26 and was going to become a father for the first time in September. This really is sad news. So I'm having an after-dinner glass of white wine in his honour.
