The offerings in your country will differ according to what is currently public domain. Aus and Canada were both 50 years (or less) at the time of death for a lot of these authors I suspect.

Ugh! I created a Canadian account so I could use perkopolis to buy a book, but I don't have a download link even though the file type is epub2. I also tried obok just in case, but no joy. The desktop app only tells me I have no books in my library. I hate you Kobo

EDIT: The download link finally showed up 2 hours after purchase. Problem solved, but very annoying wait before being able to download

You didn't account for the international dateline! Naturally you have to expect some timewarp effects going cross-border. That's just physics.

It's just the Aura that's going on special offer. It's also $99 (CAD) at Chapters.

You can try perkopolis with the HD to see if it gives a discount. I posted on my blog about perkopolis and a POSSIBLE 10 percent discount. I have to go check. Someone wrote me and told me it worked so I blogged about it. But that was before the Aura went to 99 so I don't know if it is still working or if the person who emailed meant HD.

OKay, I checked. It was a while ago but supposedly the perkopolis did result in a 10 percent discount on models OTHER than h20. I do not know what country you have to be in or if it will still work.

Kobo has a new rep on MR, BrodieKobo, who has posted down in the Kobo devices sub-forum.

The current 3-for-2 promo has some pretty nice non-couponable publishers in it. There's some recent sf/fantasy from Orbit at the $9.99 mark, which works out to $7 apiece if you can find 3 matching-priced ones (although a few of the titles have been much cheaper as Orbital Book Drops for $1.99-$2.99).

Overall, it looks like a promising way to enjoy discounts on ordinarily non-discountable publishers.
