When downloading fics from email, is there a way to pick up all of the series, but NOT any translations into other languages? I really like the series option, but having to go back and delete six translations for a single fic gets old.

What site is sending you email notices like that? Can you screen shot? The answer is probably to use FFF's Reject feature, BTW. |

A feature request, if think good: 'Open Story in Browser' in menu. url identifier, or internal link if search inside is enabled.
My usecase would be binding to a keyboard shortcut to make checking for stories deleted from site less tedious. Last edited by ownedbycats; 08-05-2025 at 07:44 PM. |

Have you tried:
Go to Calibre Preferences > Look & Feel > Book details Include Identifiers(identifiers) in the "Select displayed metadata" list. Assuming you display the book details in your book list, you can one-click the Id which will appear as the site domain name. |

That's what I'm doing now. However my right hand is the one affected by the stroke so I have to stop for a break after only a few.

FFF has the 'Get Story URLs from Selected Books' feature already (I hotkey that to 'L').
Adding something else special to them open them seems extremely niche... As I recall, didn't you comment before about having a browser plugin to open a list of URLs? |

In terms of default sleep timers, putting in a 5 second sleep timer for scribblehub is likely neccessary, in my experience, because that site does go heavy on the rate limiting otherwise.

I have mine set to 4, and it fails on about 1 in 40 connection attempts. I check around 10 at a time, with pauses between batches, and rarely have more than 2 or 3 per batch with new chapters.

There's one story that I follow where the author has a really annoying method of updating where the actual latest chapter is always the second to last, with the last chapter just has some disclaimer text. Is there any setting anywhere that can set just that story to download the modified chapters, or alternately set that specific story to re-download the whole book when updating? (Otherwise I'd just have to remember to do it manually when the story updates)

On sites with unique chapter URLs, FFF will handle it automatically. You could even use ignore_chapter_url_list to exclude the offending 'chapter'.
And the mark_new_chapters feature is specifically for indicating which chapter(s) are new. Spoiler:
On sites with simple numbered chapter URLs (like ffnet), I think you'll have to manage it manually. What I'd probably do in such a situation is use Calibre's 'Edit book' and remove chapter after downloading. That's about as much as I can say without knowing story URLs. |

Hm. I'm not sure either of those options would work, because week 1's "bad" chapter becomes week 2's latest, correct, chapter, in the same URL.
Since FFF only downloads the new chapters, any updates after the initial download will just have the bad chapter repeated at the end, since it won't download modified chapters. The story URL is https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/48...thout-a-system |

The Sietch has Cloudflare in ‘siege mode’. According to the information displayed, the reason for this is extremely heavy bot traffic. In addition, a login is required for downloads with FFF. However, when you log in, you get a 403 client error with FFF.
