I have been using the 'report post' button of the first post for that purpose.

Perhaps someone has set the 'report post' thingy to filter out any reports from other than the author in the case of the first post of the thread.

In this specific instance, @pdurrant asked me to check if what he'd wrote looked okay when he initially rewrote that post, so don't hesitate to pester me also if something feels weird

Follow the directions exactly, and everything works just as described / as intended.

That includes using the "update to 5.6.5" packages on the page linked to in the first post.

Is this on a PW2? Seems the failure report is on PW2 and the simple local file method.

No, they'll go to all the (green) moderators, but we do have to check. I'll see what's been happening with them.

No - this is on a PW-3
This software jailbreak was NOT developed on a PW-3.
It was developed on a PW-2, so it **should still** work on a PW-2 if it works on anything else.

None of the problem reports have given enough contextual history of the device being reported to come to any conclusions.
The PW-2 has been out for a long time, there is no telling what a specific device's history is.

Can I upgrade my kindle to the latest version without losing the jailbreak? I update first the Kindle and then the Hack or update first the hack and then the kindle?

If your jailbreak is current, yes.

Just be sure it is installed before the upgrade.

That is the part which causes the jb to self re-install after the upgrade.

You will have to re-install any update_*.bin packages after the upgrade, but the JB will survive (if you have that hotfix package installed before the upgrade).

I have a jailbroken 5.4.5 PW2. Should I first upgrade the jailbreak to this one and then upgrade the firmware to 5.6.5 or the other way around?

You need to update to 5.6.5 before you can use this jb. Go to first post and follow the link to the 5.6.5 firmware and MANUALLY update. Do NOT update by turning on Wi-Fi; that will update you to 5.7..x and then you are toast.
