It is extremely unlikely to help. The image will be the same as doing a full factory reset. Do that from either the Developer options menu or the last instructions on https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kobo_Reset:_Glo_HD.

Looking for the SD image for the Kobo Glo HD 4GB.
I unplugged my Kobo while some strange progress wheel was spinning, and it became unresponsive so I rebooted it. Now it's stuck in the "Restoring Loop". Help needed! Thanks in advance!

Try a factory reset using the last set of instructions on https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kobo_Reset:_Glo_HD. That could trigger a correct update. It probably won't, but, it's worth trying.

And consider getting a new SD card. This can be a sign that the card is starting to fail. You can safely use a larger card and expand the books partition to use it all.
