After reading this thread, I can tell where people on OTHER forums are from , just by what they say the weather's doing. It's scary.
Here it's warmer than usual, though not on par with Georgia and the Carolinas, but still no snow that has stayed longer than 24 hours. From what I know (I've only been here seven years), this is late for us not to have snow cover. And it's looking like a green Christmas here, too. I'm certainly NOT complaining, but several of my coworkers are. |

![]() So it looks like I won't have to dream of a white Christmas. This started about 11:00 am today and is supposed to continue into the night. With highs of less than 28 F predicted over the next few days, it will last the weekend. |

So a balmy -12 F this morning, though a high of 21 F with predicted wind chill making that feel like 15 F. Saturday night about a foot of snow fell so Sunday I spent several hours shoveling snow from the driveway and sidewalk. Then the wind really started blowing over Sunday night and also the snow plow came by at 5 am yesterday morning if pushed about 2 feet of snow up onto the sidewalk I had cleared Sunday. So another day of shoveling snow yesterday.

High of only 54 today and then a low of 31 tomorrow! Back in the 70's by Friday though.

Wet. Also wet and there's some wetness coming down. Temps are well above freezing. More like early spring than mid-winter. Actually, the birds are starting to sing and flowers are starting to bloom...

There's a kind of emergency right here now... Dikes are on the verge of breaking or overflowing due to wind and rain. The wind causes the water in the North and Waddensea to be pushed up, so the pumping stations can't get rid of the inland water... (it doesn't help when sea level is higher than river level...)
Let's just say, I'm glad my house is laying a bit higher than the road and I checked the ditches, they still can hold water... |

![]() It's an inland-dike (surrounding lower-than-sea-level land), and usually it doesn't give problems. But it's been raining since the start of December (more or less) and with a northwestern storm, not a lot of ways to get rid of the excess water... We just need a sudden frost of about -10 Celsius, that should stop the water in its track ![]() |
