Can I also get that image davidfor? My N289 suddenly can't find any books (that are still on the card) and "updates" the firmware on every boot...guessing the internal SD is probably going...

N647B image
I purchased a second-hand reader for my partner which had a few issues, but I seem to have narrowed it down to just this final booting/loading issue. Having read others' replies and seeing how helpful David has been, I made an account to ask his assistance once more.

I believe I too require an SD image for the N647B. The issue is that I'm unsure as to what I then do with this image. Is the current SD card doomed, and will I need a replacement to load the image onto it? Or am I simply able to overwrite the current SD via Windows?

I have sent a PM with the link to the image. This needs to be written to the card. You can see some instructions, see Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. They are for the Glo, but the basic steps and tools are the same.

If you have any doubts about the SD card, I would replace it. You can use a larger card, but, I'm not sure what he maximum size that works for the WiFi. 4GB should be OK, but, I'm not sure about 8GB. These devices are old enough that they probably do not support anything larger.

I've just come back to thank David for his assistance, and for the link to the information required to upload the image. I had to improvise slightly to clear my own SD card and wipe its partitions etc first. I fumbled my way through that, mainly guessing, but eventually managed to load the fresh image supplied by David onto my previously bricked SD card (that came with the device), and have now seen life in my eReader for the first time. So thank you again David, and those responsible for creating the memory upgrade guide.

Now all I have left is to try and fashion a new power button out of some bits I've got laying around, and it'll be good as new!

N647 Firmware Link Request
Hi david, sorry to bother, I tried looking for the link to the firmware image somewhere in the thread, but I couldn't find it, I only see you send it over PMs. Could you send it to me too?
I'm trying to fix my parent's Kobo wi-fi N647 which is having the same issue mentioned in the thread.
