You have to give karma to someone else before you can give it to someone again.

But while I appreciate the thought, karma isn't necessary. If a post I make is helpful in some way, I'm happy.

(And I've been bemused, on occasion, but some of the posts that i]have[/i] generated karma.)

Quote:
I know he's been doing a little better and is considering making some changes that I think will help with the grief. I think the next few months are going to be pretty hard on him but at least he doesn't have to worry about starting over with a new team.
The next few moths will certainly be hard on him, and the pain will never completely go away. But with time, it will become bearable. And I'm sure staying with the Bengals and continuing to coach they guys she treated like they were her kids is what she'd want him to do. (And I can see a Bengal's D player telling another who blew a play "Vicky wouldn't like that!" and getting results...)

A friend is an SF writer in Britain, and she expressed lack of understanding of what people saw in football (soccer). Another UK writer said it was about Story, and gave examples, and she understood. For me, the Bengals this year were about Story, and it seemed like the football gods had decided all the bad luck in the NFL would get dumped on them. They weren't my team, but I felt for them, wished them well, and don't think they have anything to be ashamed of in how they played and how well they did.

I was delighted when your brother got the raise and contract extension, because it was very well deserved, and if the Bengals hadn't done so, I think half the teams in the NFL would have been bidding for his services.

Just sat down with my first cuppa and wanted to check in on MR in quiet & peace. Then OH & fatcat turned up and the peace is gone. Still having my cuppa though - OH can feed the fatcat and make himself breakfast.

Note to self: buy some headsets for OH so he can watches his sport and I can still have peace & quiet

Updating my "new releases for 2010" list on Facebook, thanks to "discovering" the "Stop, You're Killing Me" site's list. While doing that, added another 6 or 7 items to my wishlists at various places. Then I decided to check on how many items I had between all three places I maintain wishlists. Not surprisingly, Amazon is first in line, with 67 items, Books on Board next with 21 on my wishlist there, and then BN with 11. And these wishlists don't include all the things that are on that new release list...
I'm thinking with that added in, it's probably near the 150 mark.

At the moment, drinking some tea, reading these forums (obviously!), and reading some news. Probably going to listen to some music for a little bit, too. Funny part is that I'm probably going back to sleep shortly

Just got home from the Julie Hyzy signing. The fog was supposed to lift around noon, instead of doing what it did, which was just get thicker all day! In spite of that, however, I had an absolute blast! Julie recognized me instantly from my picture on Facebook, and we hugged each other and did the whole female squeal thing. She had her husband and one of her daughters with her. Chris and Julie's husband got into a nice conversation while me and Julie babbled at each other. We ended up staying most of the two hours that the signing was scheduled, and I came home with yet another autographed book of hers . We're planning on getting together again sometime - probably when she does the launch for the Manor Of Murder series this summer. Julie is absolutely one of the nicest people I have ever met!

Let me strongly suggest that you try a hot cup of tea and some chocolate, Am. Or a donut. Has nothing to do with tinnitus but it will help make with the ignoring the party bit. Couldn't hurt, anyway.

That would appear to be very sound advice - I shall go and follow it (it'll have to be chocolate as I have no doughnuts)

@Am

I always have some earplugs just incase something loud and annoying may occasionally happen that is beyond my control to stop. However, this will increase attention to the tinnitus; so here you have to weigh up your options. I have tinnitus myself. A great idea also is noise cancelling earplugs that can be plugged into an mp3 player, etc as this will block external sound and also mask the tinnitus somewhat with the sounds of your choice (be it music, whitenoise, etc)
