Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion

I'm too embarrassed to admit to the number of times I clicked, but in my defense, I was clicking really fast for about 20 seconds or so, and then going off to do something else, and firefox would just queue up the clicks. Almost all of the coupons were 30% or less, even the number of 35% off coupons were less than 2.5% and the more valuable coupons were like .25% of total coupons.

It's ironic that the books Kobo uses for the trivia contest are almost never eligible for the coupons. Rosemary's Baby was the only one, and while Bird Box is not couponable, it is $1.99 which I suspect means it's on sale.

Me too! I've discovered that I can just click and click on my phone while going on about my day, not waiting to see what the coupon is. Then I go to my email and just search 75% and then 65% - -I don't even have to open and look at the emails. I had ...976 kobo coupons in my email box! 1 75% 2 65% 3 55% 5 45%. I can't figure out what wording to use to see if won an ereader though, so I could have the winning email, but I'm not opening 1000 emails to see.

Almost every book I am interested in is coupon eligible, so I am stacking up on books. I'll have some 45% and 55% to post at some point today

I don't even really want any more books but now it's a personal challenge. I am running a script (free iMacro plugin in Chrome - super easy to use) to click the button over and over on a loop and then I check my emails. I have run this stupid thing at least 300 times and not gotten a coupon code over 35%. Now I'm just going to keep doing it until I get a 75% coupon -- not because I need any more books but I feel really emotionally invested in this contest now.

Manually clicking (Chrome) I got (1) 75% code, (1) 65% code and (3) 55% codes in approx. 45 minutes. Thankfully that's enough for me, so I can stop clicking

Grrrr not only do I have to suffer through Kobo's abysmal website which has zero navigation tools when browsing (not even basic paging) I now get server errors when I try to make a purchase. If I didn't have coupons, Kobo would be the last place I'd buy books

I am trying to buy a book. It shows under the old system. But I can't find it on the new system. I've searched by title, author, and then the author and title together. Finally I searched the first book in the series and then clicked on the series link. No luck. And clicking on the series link DOES brink it up in the old system (then again so does searching by title or author).

So strange! Kobo makes it hard to shop with them

I was out of town for two days and went back last night to play the two days I missed. I caught up on this thread and thought that I would at least be able to try my luck on the last day of the contest.

Interestingly enough, this morning Kobo had no record of me playing the two days I missed, so I got to play them again. And just now, I went back just for laughs and again found that it had no record of me playing any of the last three days. So I've got a chance to get a 75% coupon yet. I managed to get a 65% one earlier this morning. Of course, it would be really nice if I could take it somewhere other than the US, but at least I was able to get the discount-eligible book I had on my wish list today.

Try putting quotes around the title. That worked for me once.

No luck I used the coupon for a different book, so hopefully by the next contest it will be straightened out. So strange!

That is odd. I know one of the books I bought on Kobo was pulled by the author--but they finally fixed and show a message that the book is no longer available. Maybe the book has been pulled. Or, uhm. Maybe Kobo messed up.
