FREE/BARGAIN — Audiobooks

I don't know how many of you listen to full cast serializations of novels and such, but one of the bigger players in the business is Realm (formerly Sereal Box). They are similar to GraphicAudio, for those of you familiar with their works. I stopped paying attention to Realm when they went DRM and app-only a few years ago. Apparently that didn't work so well because they have begun to release some of their older titles (except for the Marvel stuff ) as podcasts. While I have not listened to it yet one of the ones they have released recently that caught my interest was Elfquest.

When a fierce tribe of woodland elves - the Wolfriders - are burned from their homes by hostile humans, their chief, Cutter, must tap every reserve of strength and will to lead his people to safety.

I loved reading this series growing up. (I first fell in love with the reprint series released by Marvel, but they were older than that and the series continues to this day.) You can find it on most any of the podcast applications of your choice, including iTunes. I'll again provide a link to the one I use most, Podbean.

In case you haven't noticed, it seems we lost one of the oldest continuing sources of free audiobooks, as ChristianAudio has decided to discontinue giving away a free title every month. For those of you interested in Christian titles I can suggest an alternative.

One Audiobooks is a place I've begun using lately. They offer a free title each month, though if you claim one of their free titles it will only stay in your library for a few months. That's okay, though, because the titles they offer are DRM-free and can be downloaded to your PC for use in your favorite audiobook player. They currently have two titles up that might interest the Classics lovers in the forum, "The Princess and the Goblin" by George MacDonald and "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery.

If you're not ready to commit to signing up for their site just yet, you might be interested in sampling their titles elsewhere. They are available on most major audiobook platforms. In fact, a couple of their titles are free over at Libro.fm. There you can try "The Princess and the Goblin" mentioned previously and "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan. Be aware that while "The Pilgrim's Progress" is listed at unabridged, based on its length it is likely abridged.

Another site I've been looking at lately is AudiobooksGuild. This is basically a collection of authors that had some level of following on Amazon/Audible and decided to band together to keep more of their cheddar and not give it to Jeff. The titles are mostly guy-oriented (a rarity for books) and be sure you look at the title description before giving them your money - make sure the subject matter is for you! All of their titles are DRM-free and can be downloaded through Bookfunnel.

There are a couple of free titles available, and if you'd like to check them out to see if this is for you I'd like to recommend "Downfall and Rise" by Nathan Thompson, read by Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet.

Booklover6 sorry I missed this information. I am looking to resign with audible but I don't know about their new rewards program. Would you mind explaining what that is?

I received my first audible rewards coupon today, I was not expecting it because I had canceled my membership yesterday and my billing cycle ended today (23th), so it was a nice surprise. I had taken advantage of the promotion of 3 months for 0.99 $ and I used all my credits at once on the 16th so it took a week to receive the coupon. All in all I got 4 audiobooks for 0,99 $.

I used the coupon on a 7,49$ audio, and was wandering if anyone know if it’s possible to list the audiobooks by price, this option didn’t appear on the sorting options given, but maybe there is another way. It would come in handy in this case because I just wanted to spend the 10 $ coupon.
