Change all '/' to '&' or vice versa? Or to some other third character? Use a .NOREPL copy of ships for the conditional?

The .norepl might work. I don't want to remove all the &s as they're for platonic relationships.

Don't know why people double-tag them tbh. If I'm looking for x&y stories, is annoying when its all cluttered up with the x/y.

Is there a way to edit the personal.ini to exclude title pages for works within a series anthology (specifically on AO3)?

I'm trying to download anthologies for one author who treats series works like chapters, and some of the series literally have hundreds of works (each one just a few thousand words). I can edit the epub anthology within Calibre and delete the title pages manually, but it's tedious and time consuming. I would love to find an easier option!

You can set include_titlepage:false under [defaults] or [archiveofourown.org] while you're downloading those, but FFF doesn't have settings per series.

You can set settings per story URL, but if there are hundreds, that doesn't seem hugely practical.

You might consider having a second Calibre library with different FFF settings that you download those in, then copy them to your usual library.

I tried to update the personal.ini in FanFicFare for Archive of our own, but I am still getting this error:


HTTP Error in FFF '525 Server Error: for url: https://archiveofourown.org/works/58...=true'(525)

here is the part of the error that doesn't want to show above: 58073320?view_adult=true'(525)

I noticed the workarounds for ao3! Thanks ;D Don't know if it helps, but I'm now getting failed chapters in FFF for FF.net even when the opened pages in my browser (Firefox on OSX 14) all look fine. I've used the new try_shortened_title_urls option, updated to the latest version of calibre and FFF, cleared my browser's cache, restarted both calibre and my browser...

Hi,
I just reinstalled calibre after years of not using it and have trouble with downloading fics from FanFication.net.

I get the following error notification (with every fic I try): HTTP Error in FFF '403 Client Error: Forbidden for url: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1084831...oenix'(403)

Other sites, like ao3, work.

Can someone help me with this, please?

I'm using calibre on a mac, and for some reason I can't view any of my downloaded fics. I have them set to download as an HTML, and they download fine, but when I try to open them I get this error:
"Unable to expand "ficname.zip". It is an unsupported format".

If I manually download the fic as an epub it does let me open it, but I've never had an issue open HTML files until now. I've also tried going directly to my library file and opening it from there and no dice.

I have about 400 downloaded fics so I'm really hoping I don't have to go back and re-download everything in a different format.

When you add an HTML file as a book to Calibre, it puts in a zip file.

The Calibre reader is able to read those, at least when you open them in calibre.

Unless you only download completed stories you never intend to update, I recommend downloading to epub format. FFF is able to update those.

If the zip file itself is bad, I would suspect full disk or some other more fundamental problem.
