Just to be clear, if I add this instead of using browser cache, do I need to modify the URLs to be archiveofourown.gay instead of .org for new stories and for stories I'm updating or does the plugin translate that for me?

If it's enabled, the .org links will work.

On the "Custom Columns" tab, there is a section at the bottom labeled "Special column:" and you want to create a column and add it to "Update/Overwrite Error Column:". I don't check the "Save All Errors" box, so I only see error messages if the last run failed. Granted, stories with no updates are listed as bad but have no error message, so you will only see them if you use the "View Log" button others have mentioned.

I wish that it had Good/Bad/No instead of just Good/Bad, but the current system works.

I actually do a bit of cheating. I have two columns for the errors. The first is for the error being reported (error_messages) and have that hidden in the tag browser. The second is a column built from that first one that behaves like tags (errors). then I use a programming template that takes the first few characters of the error message in the original column and have it identify its own error message for it.

the error about the bad update because there hasn't been an update translates to website current. Different sites seem to result in different messages, so multiple errors report the same. makes things a lot easier when I only have to look at a half dozen different errors

the 525 error occasionally thrown by A03 the last couple of months, I have it translate to "Too many requests", then I can go back later and select just the stories that threw that error and try to update them again.

want to see what has not thrown an error? just I click on errors twice so it gives a 'search' of #errors:false and get a list of what has thrown no errors since the last time a story was updated

It may not be the most elegant solution out there, but it works and that's what I care about

Hello! I am using FanFicFare after a while, and I recently updated it to add fanfics from AO3. I am having this error "HTTP Error in FFF '525 Server Error:" and looking for solutions on resolving this. It's happening for both adult and non-adult fanfics. How should I modify the personal.ini? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I've inserted use_browser_cache:false into my personal.ini and changed to use_browser_cache:false, but I still have to type in my login information every time. What am I doing wrong?

Does it work after that? Because if you want to not have to enter those manually, you need to add username & password parameters, too.

Note that FFF doesn't do anything special to protect those in personal.ini.

Hey!

When I download from FF.net, the cover won't download?
I see the cover page opening when I download with open_page_in_browser, so FFF at least try to download them, but they don't appear once the story is downloaded.

I know that FF.net is broken as a general rule, but is it normal or is it a bug on my end?

I assume you check cover settings already. Also check there isn't an accidential never_make_cover in your personal.ini.

Still, sometimes happens to me on newly-downloaded fics. I not sure why. Paste the cover to Calibre and use Polish (or Modify ePub plugin) to embed it and it should stick on future updates.

It could be that the image didn't process. I'd have to see the story in question to do more than speculate.
