Well, you can just put the dishes on the floor and let your yeller dog lick them clean, anyway.

You would have to put something on top of the dishwasher. I've got a built-in model that I need to install, and the top of it is very unattractive.

That's simple to fix. Just cook things for yourself that you know that he likes.

One final word on microwave cookbooks.
Be sure and read the introduction for what the microwave wattage was used in the recipes.
And on microwave popcorn, do not use the popcorn button.
