Hallo,
im new here.
I have problems with Kobo Glo HD sdcard and I would like to ask for card image for it as it is no longer doing its job, even as a keen reader of books on the Kobo. Thanks for quick help in advance.

Hello. Can you send me kobo glo HD image file as well.


I tried the magic memory upgrade but I think I failed and the device wont open even when I use the original SD card. Only the red light would open but screen stays white. I tried to press reset button but no effect as well.

So I would just follow the usual usb image tool and wizard partition on this one?

Thank you as I am very new to this and a first time user of kobo glo HD.model is n437

@Randallflagg28: If you have put the original card in, then you probably want to follow the full manual factory reset instructions. They are the last ones on https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kobo_Reset:_Glo_HD. And check that the cable for the screen is still seated properly. And the card is seated as well. I've done both at various times.

@Penfield: You need to enable Private Messaging. This is in the "Edit Options" of the control panel. If this isn't there, it has to be added somehow. You can try posting in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=319819 to ask it to be enabled, or contact a moderator.

Hi davidfor, thank you so much. For the factory reset, you mean after I perform putting the Image file in the sd card?

No, first. From what you said, unless you messed up the original card, the manual factory reset has a good chance of working. I don't know of anything that the magic memory upgrade would block this from working. But, make sure you follow all the steps.

I am a little surprised it didn't start. I don't know if it will work, but, all it will cost is some time.

Thank you for the image.

I have written the image multiple times to multiple micro SD cards (using dd from Linux cli) and my Kobo Glo HD fails to boot, the device will power on, red LED illuminates, no screen change.

I have attempted the manual factory reset method (last method) described here with no luck: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kob...ing_squares.22

Is the image compressed or modified in some manner? The dd image provided is 1.98GB but that seems a bit odd to me as I am under the impression that the only storage option for the Kobo Glo HD was 4GB. Would a 1:1 image of a 4GB micro SD card not result in a 4GB disk image?

Is it possible I was provided an incorrect image? My only other option to investigate further at this time is to wire up a serial interface and see what is going on.

Looks like there was an issue with the initial extraction of the image from the archive, ended up extracting the image once again and as expected the extracted image file size was 3.7GB.

I have successfully imaged that to the micro SD and my Kobo Glo HD is back up and running.

Thanks again @davidfor for the image file, greatly appreciated.
