Ok, then likely a Cloudflare issue/"feature". tried 1 story today and it worked fine without any FFF proxy setting... It actually worked for 90% of the list I put in yesterday, only 1 failed then repeated failing with any story after that.. SOL is new to the CF multiverse, so so user re-training might be needed to properly set expectations.. (but also good to know 1 temp workaround functions...for now...)

Feature request
Say I list 5 files in FFF to download and after a while get "FFF found 3 good and 2 bad updates". So I click on Proceed, get my 3 good books but which books failed?
Can there be an option, another button say "Write fails to log", where failed downloads with appropriate information get written to a file so can be tried again? Maybe even make that the default for fails and write it right to Calibre? |

However I had not checked the "Mark..." check box. Is that what was missing Last edited by julo; 04-17-2025 at 06:17 PM. |

Or, open the Jobs list by clicking where it says 'Jobs' in the lower right corner, then double click on the last 'Download X Fanfiction Books' job to see the full log. At the bottom, it will tell you what failed and the log will tell you why. As pointed out, there's also options to 'mark' both successful and failed books--which admittedly doesn't help with new downloads. |

On the "Custom Columns" tab, there is a section at the bottom labeled "Special column:" and you want to create a column and add it to "Update/Overwrite Error Column:". I don't check the "Save All Errors" box, so I only see error messages if the last run failed. Granted, stories with no updates are listed as bad but have no error message, so you will only see them if you use the "View Log" button others have mentioned. I wish that it had Good/Bad/No instead of just Good/Bad, but the current system works. - Andrew |

I am not sure what error I am making but I can't get FFF to download AO3 using the browser cache. I have no problems using FFF for FFnet browser cache stories but I get the following error when trying to use it for AO3:
Code:
HTTP Error in FFF 'Page not found or expired in Browser Cache (see FFF setting browser_cache_age_limit)'(428) URL:'https://archiveofourown.... Code:
[defaults] collect_series: false browser_cache_path:/Users/xxxxxxxxx [archiveofourown.org] use_browser_cache:true use_browser_cache_only:true ##open_pages_in_browser:true never_make_cover:true is_adult:true ##username:xxxx ##password:xxxx ## AO3 offers a page to download the entire work at once. This can ## save a lot of network traffic if there are many chapters. ## True by built-in default. #use_view_full_work:true [overrides] browser_cache_age_limit:4.0 never_make_cover:true skip_author_cover:true check_next_chapter:false I am sure that I am doing something wrong but haven't figured out what yet. Any help would be appreciated. Last edited by slantybard; 04-18-2025 at 10:58 PM. |

Out of curiosity, is there any way to keep open_pages_in_browser from taking window focus? I was trying to look at something in another window while downloading a fic.
