Here nomes.... have some chocolate and coffee and more hugs. You also would benefit from some blue kittie flannelette pyjamas and stay in them all day.

I'm liking it, but not as much as the Kindle. I think the annotation capabilities of the Kindle are better, easier, and more accurate. In many cases, it's difficult to select the last period in a sentence on the 600 without also selecting the first word of the next sentence; but my main beef is that it truncates the text when importing it into my PC. Is there a workaround for that? Other than that, it's a wonderful reader.
The Nook is getting better, but it's still a distant third to the Sony and the Kindle. The most recent update finally added a "Go To Page" feature. I find that having a separate touchscreen at the bottom is not a plus. |

Politics!!! Too much of it going around at work these days. A handful of people with too much testosterone and delusions of grandeur trying to show the boss who's boss, and everyone else is made to suffer. Nobody wanted anything to do with 2nd or 3rd shifts when overtime was abundant, but now that it's rare, these babies are crying to go on nights so they can get the shift differential. Now the boss is threatening to start 90 day rotations. I came on nights to get away from all the BS. If I'm forced to go on days, I may have to retire. I'm going to personnel Monday to find out what I would get paid if I do. I've got over 33 years with my bought-back military time included, so it may be enough to live on.
I've been off my meds for a while now, and having difficulty hooking up with a new doc. If I go on days, it wouldn't be pretty for anyone—especially me! Last edited by WT Sharpe; 06-26-2010 at 09:35 AM. |

Gotta love that GSW buy back option! My current retirement plan includes two years at a VAMC to get that eight years in the AF back. It would not be a lot to buy it back and the cost would be tax free, since I'd take it out of my 401 as a "retirement expense."

Tim bought back 15 months in our univ retirement system, which paid off last fall when he took early retirement. It put him just barely into the category, but barely was enough.

Fixing a mess of my own making. I buy ebooks. They go into whatever folder the format they are dictates (for example: .lit format goes in Documents/My Library). Then they get copied into whichever folder I have the unDRM scripts for that folder set up in. THEN, if I'm lucky, they go into the correct genre/author folders on my F: drive (which is where I store all my ebooks). Problem? I get lazy from time to time and never move them out of the un DRM'ing folders into the proper genre/author folders. So now I'm going through all those script folders and cleaning out the unDRM'd files. I didn't realize I had bought so many books...
