Anyone getting a shipping date on their K3? - Page 7

I don't have a shipping date.. because I only found out today (as it's my birthday) that my father ordered me a Kindle 3! What a good birthday present

My wife gets the older kindle 2 so it's like a birthday for her too

I'm in Toronto though.

My main concern is that since I'm on vacation from the 29th, I need to know what's up soon so I can possibly redirect the shipment.

I ordered on July 28 and still no shipping date, but my VISA card shows a 15 cent charge yesterday for "Kindle (other)". I'm taking that as a good sign.

I guess that's Amazon "testing" the card to see if it's okay to use before they ship.

Well, they actually put those people at the head of the list for the K2. They didn't say anything this time, so I doubt they are doing anything special for current owners. I think it is just based on order date, but I was really hoping that, consistant with Amazon, it would be received on the 27th, or before. But I guess I don't know what Amazon is doing anymore. I ordered a coffeepot on Friday night - it came on Sunday night (I have Prime).

Oh, I think mine said shipping on or before August 27. So I really have no legitimate complaint, although that has never stopped me before.

Oh wow, I don't recall seeing that, but I have a terrible memory! I ordered mine on the 28th, so it would be really nice to see it *on* release day.

Ordered mine on the 28th too. Up until today it showed a delivery date of Sept 1--4 for the cover, but that has now been changed to Aug 31 delivery date. Still no change on the "will email you a delivery date" for the K3. However, my original statement shows $178.98 and so did the statement at Manage Your Kindle, until today when it shows $173.99. I had purchased two-day shipping but that is no longer being billed. Well at least they are making changes, so maybe they are getting ready to ship. If it is supposed to be delivered by the 27th, I figure it needs to ship by tomorrow. Glad I have a DXG so I'm in no big rush, but I still want my new K3!

I also remember the order now for release day delivery statement. I later thought it was odd that they let me purchase a 2-day delivery if it was to be delivered on the 27th. Perhaps they are correcting that 2-day charge if all the first batch are to be delivered on the 27th. But that is mere speculation. I was actually hoping the faster delivery would make it arrive a day or two before the 27th, hence the reason I paid the extra $4.99.

Watch you credit card or bank account for the charge as that will be a sign that it is about to be shipped.

Sigh. Ordered mine on the 30th.

As I indicated earlier, I am perfectly happy with my K2 in its pretty purple cover. I am not even doing that much reading right now - trying to reach a goal knitting for charity (500 hours). I really should try the read to me feature for when I am knitting, but I am usually just lazy and either watch reruns of True Blood or watch baseball.
