Hi, I purchased a Sony Reader last Tuesday and I love it!
The booklight I use is a small 4 LED model from Booksamillion. Its not perfect but its the best one I've tried (out of 3). The clip is just a thin sheet of metal almost like a large flat paperclip. http://www.booksamillion.com/ncom/gi...id=F0840019530 |

My husband bought me this one for my Alphasmart Neo, so it was easy to switch it over to my Reader. It works beautifully.

Here's a pic of the Reader with the Mighty Bright dual light attached. (I clip it on the cover.) ![]() There's no glare when the lights are adjusted the way they are in the pic. The pools of light from each LED overlap and give full coverage. I think it works very well. ![]() |

![]() I am using a state of the art high-tech gadget when I read in my bed every night. My other half falls asleep about 1 hour earlier. I could not use those lights with normal hardback editions, because a size of their "screen" is significantly bigger and could not be covered by small lights evenly across a page, let alone it would require to re-clip the light each time you move to the next page which would be even further away from the light source. However, now I can read a book without irritating my other half and (thanks to verilux) feel very comfortable, my eyes do not feel tired after reading for 1 hour at all. Ironically, it is a state of the art high-tech gadget that allows me such a comodity ![]() |

I agree with you, it would be much more fun if we had an integrated solution, however we don't ![]() ![]() Most likely in the future they will invent a reader with integrated light, probably something along a perimeter of the reader, although most likely it will quite heavily tax a battery. Frankly speaking....I am happy with what I have atm. I don't think an integrated solution would be as bright as my current lamp and at the same time it doesn't deplete sony battery. I am not sure if there could be a better solution for me ![]() |

I very interesting concept. Because of there are 2 antenas it is possible to position them in such way that there is no glare and the screen is lit evently across?

I'll try to post pics later tonight of the lights in action. (Have to wait for it to get dark.)
![]() A gentle backlight would be nice, but I notice when I read on my Palm that after a while I get a bit of eye strain if the ambient light in the room I'm reading in is too dark. Maybe 2nd generation? I'm happy to adapt to 1st generation - at least it exists! After all these years of waiting, I'm more than content to use a little light I already had (for another tech device! ![]() And, whatever light is added will eat into the phenomenal battery life. I still have to keep myself from plugging the Reader in every time I finish a book. |

Thank you Studio717. I look forward to the photos. I am looking to get two lights. Just have not yet decided because the problem being is these lights that are recommended have to be ordered and are a pain to return if need be.
