@CoolDragon: do I need new binaries for uds, popmenu and ctb.rc if I want to apply the patch for RC3?

later edit: it seems to work, also with updated popmenu. were there any changes in those binaries in the RC3?

FYI, that suggestion applied more when people were running parts of the DR1000 firmware on the DR800 in order to get continuous page flow. Doing it with this script appears to be much less risky.

- make 'Programs' directory on the SD card if it isn't there yet
- copy flowmytears.desktop and _flowmytears directory to that directory

If all goes well, once you enable 'folder navigation' on your reader, the script should be available for running.

(and damn, there goes my suprise name for the script...
thank you very much yacoob

Hi, guys. Could you explain what should I see after flowmytears were installed? Can not see any changes! Should it be something like on screenshots in Post #7? I am on RC3, btw...

The only thing that you will see, will be the application shortcut on your SD card. For this, you need to enable SDcard navigation in Settings. Once you do, you'll find a shortcut that you can use to run the script.

I'm *slowly* (ye gods, my C is rusty) making progress on proper solution for that, ie. having entries in the menu for full screen and page flow. Not there yet.

Script not Working.

Hi everybody, i just bought a DR800 and i'm very happy with it...
I've been trying to run the script from Yacoob and it doesn't work. It
generates the following message:"The 'flowmytears.desktop' application cannot be opened. Possibly the application is already open. Close it first and try again"
I'm i doing something wrong?

Thanks.

That's just a generic error message that it couldn't run the script (doesn't always mean that it's already open).

Make sure you've got things in the right directories. It looks like the desktop script is expecting to find the .sh script in a directory called Programs/_flowmytears on your SD card.

Also, one thing I found when working on a different script is that the DR800 is very picky about carriage-return line-feeds in the file. Make sure if you are ftp'ing it that you do so in binary mode. Some ftp applications will try to convert carriage-return line-feeds if you ftp a file in text/ascii mode.

Problem solved

The script works perfectly! My problem was that i unziped directly to the dr800 and created one more directory level than was required.
Thank you very much.

Оh, thanks...I am not that stupid. But my question was what will I see after apply this script. I did everything as written, and can see no change. What should I expect to see? What is "continuous page mode" really?

You won't "see" anything, as in there's no extra icon or menu entry. You should see a change in the way document is presented once you get back to it. The actual effect may vary per pdf, but basically you should see the page slightly zoomed in, without visible breaks between the pages. It's best visible in landscape mode.

Thank you very much! Will check it out...Screenshots in post 7 little bit confused me. Hope, I wasn't too offensive.

Thanks fpor the flowmytears script! I love it!

one small bug: for some(?) pdfs the "zoomability" is negatively affected. For instance, without pageflow I can zoom the whole width in both landscape and portrait, but with pageflow, landscape zooming only goes about halfway (portrait actually zooms further in that case).

Still, the DR800 is MUCH more useful thanks to the script!

E.M., I guess that's expected behavior. I've also noted that once you flip page flow on, your abilities to zoom in landscape are rather impaired. Perhaps that's one of the reasons page flow isn't enabled by default This way or another, I think it's uds limitation, and as such can only be remedied with swapping the uds binary.

BTW, for early adopters: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89876 . It's probably still buggy, but already useful.
