Sorry everyone. I had to update the zip file. I removed some unwanted graphics from near the top of the screen.

Hi BenChen,
about 2 weeks ago Mark Nord directed my attention to the attempts to make some PRS-games "touchable".
(I've since then looked into my old code once but I'm not really involved.)

So I am very glad that you have taken on the challenge!

Just one remark (to make sure) about the "Easy?" button: you probably are aware that it just diminishes the height of each stack that holds more than one tile, aren't you?

Hmmm. It doesn't look like it does anything in the test environment. (I don't have a 505 so I cannot check to see what happens there.) But the graphics doesn't update as far as I could see. I don't see any tiles disappearing. Are they supposed to disappear from the top or the bottom of the piles?

Actually it sets var "this.weg" to 1 (or back to 0).

In the "prepMahJong" function data of the various "images" (like: target.Italia2_Plan=[30,4,....]) this would diminish the (alternately) second value from (here: ) 4 to 3 WHILE BUILDING the stacks.
Without "Easy?" there will be 4 tiles, WITH it only 3...

I lack the insight to see why that doesn't happen in reality (and still only own a PRS-500).
BTW: does the touchable version work in the WIN-Emulator at all?

Yes, you can try out the Touch version in Mark Nord's FSK Test Environment. You just have to edit eBookSimMain.xml manually (as per the instructions in post #89). Then, when you start the emulator, choose "TouchInterface" from the control menu (top left corner). Then, when you click on Mahjong, you see what the game looks like on the PRS-600 and you can click using the mouse.

I've now converted both Mahjong and Fiveballs. Thanks so much for the originals, by the way! I've partially repaid the favour by programming Five In A Row. I hope you like it!

That's great!
(i must say, though - hope noone's listening in - that I had some probs with 5balls: button "0" is the right-most on my PRS500 BUT in the internal "hierarchy" "0" is FIRST - I had to do no end of shifting values back and forth around the corner; to my shame: sometimes balls on the very right are FALSELY deleted together with some on the utter left. Don't tell anybody!)

Actually I also did a Kakuro game. But not being a professional mathematician there sometimes showed up fields with more than one solution so I didn't pursue that ...

P.s.: a little KARMA never hurts, does it? Here you go ...

Hi, both of you!

Many thanks for working on this!

If you comment out the last line of target.doMenuF
Code:
// this.container.getModel().resume();
then EASY?! and NEW (in hasNumericButtons-mode) works as expected.
In the Sim. Couldn't test on real device.
With this line active, this.init() in the switch statement in target.doCenterF is never called.
HTH
Mark

OK, so is that line necessary for the game to work on a real device? Or can we just delete it completely?

Of course, now I need to think about including "EASY?!" in the Touch version...

(I just checked the not-saving-highscore issue in FiveBalls on my very old PRS500: there it works like it's supposed to ...)

Just checked with my PRS-505. You can safely delete the line. Game works as expected.

Regarding the savegame problem with Fiveballs, you can try to point the path-var to "\Data\" which is the root of IM and check if a savegame-file appears.

Hi everyone,

I've updated the Mahjong zip file. It's in post #89. The Touch version now has "New layout" and "Easy/Normal" buttons.

Thanks to Clemenseken and Mark for the assistance!

Test version: Fiveballs

Hi everyone,

Following Mark's suggestion, I now have a version of Fiveballs that updates and remembers the high score on a PRS-600. Can someone test it on a 500/505? Note that it now doesn't update in the Test Environment.

Presumably, it will be possible to use conditionals to set the path, if required!

Sincerely,
Ben.

UPDATE: Latest version now found in post #145.

Hello Ben!

The version of fiveballs included in PRS+1.1.3 still saves the highscore. The issue seams to be with the v.2.x.x integration of target.fiveballsRoot with the 600.

I think we shouldn't spent effort on this, until kartu will release his PRS+ v.2 for the 505. Presumably the highscore will not be saved in a separate file, but within the PRS+ save-options functionality.

But anyway congratulations, you are the one and only with a "full-featured, game-enabled" PRS-600.

New game: Free Cell

Anyone for Free Cell? I know it's a bit of an oldy, but since almost every game is winnable, it makes for a great game...

Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Ben.

Unfortunately, this didn't work when I tried loading it on my PRS-600. It works fine in the Test Environment, in both Touch and non-Touch modes. But my reader just froze when I clicked on its menu entry.

If anyone can find the bug, I would be very grateful!
I think the error is in the name of the folder. Change FreeCell by Freecell. So worked fine in the prs-505
