But, I am seeing different prices for these agency priced eBooks. So what gives there?

Maybe you detailed this above, in which case I apologize. But is there any place besides Kobo (which, at least for Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins, seem to be sending Canadian prices to Kobo when they should be USD) with different prices?

Not only changes in the pricing though... I cannot find a whole lot of titles anymore. No ebooks from Robert Jordan for instance. That sucks, since BoB was one of the few places I could get them from being not from the US.

I'm not sure if it's because of the switch to agency model, but some books are missing from the sony site that use to be there. For example, Richard Knaak and all his World of Warcraft and Diablo books.

I've finally managed to get around to checking my email and found BoB's rather sheepish "oops, it's going to take us until at least mid-April to get this sorted" email.
Had all the other retailers been as slow I could have understood their issue. However I've just bought a Penguin book from Cyber Read that still isn't available from BoB, ebooks.com, Diesel or Amazon (having been a pre-order and then withdrawn 2 days before release). Looks like all ebook retailers are equally unprepared...except some seem more unprepared than others. Having finally caved and paid $7.99 for a book from Cyber Read, I now can't validate it in Mobipocket Reader because for some reason Cyber Read won't recognise my password and the password reminder button doesn't seem to be working. And where is Cyber Read's customer services? On lunch? For the past 5 hours? Argh! So close and yet so far. [sigh] Rant over. [UPDATE] I take it all back. Cyber Read are lovely people and I'm now a happy reader. Last edited by Grumpyreader; 04-07-2010 at 05:23 PM. Reason: Sanity (and an ebook) prevailed |
