I don't think PRS-505 is a very good device if your main purpose is reading technical PDF formatted to A4/Letter. You have to either reflow or use other programs to convert PDF to something more readable but, in both cases, you will lose all important formatting and/or mathematical formulas.

PRS-505 is an excellent device reading books in formats such as epub, but if your main interest is reading technical PDFs with complex formatting, tables, formulas, it may be better to search for devices with bigger screen.

Even regular PDF's (text only) look terrible once you adjust font size and they are being reflowed. If you have the 505 stay away from all PDF's, unless you want to put in a lot work fixing them.

Missed out on the first two - I took the punt on the wrong one.

Bid 161 pounds on one. The other one went for bugga 160 and the one I bid on went for 166.

Never mind there are two more to go, and if I don't get one of those, I will cough up the bucks for a new 900 out of B&H after passover.

I am in a win win situation now

Keep it going i say. I brought my 505 on ebay for 120, great price. So if you can hold out you may get one.

505 is something i will keep until a colour reader with fixed screen non lcd comes out. It really is an excelllent reader, and its good for people with bad eyesight too.

If you have only good eyesight would i buy a ipad, so all you students are ok, lol.

Yep thats the only drawback. Pdfs only work sometimes, but there are loads of books that are in formats you can read.
